Getting mixed messages as to how to do this? If my calorie goal says1200 and I excercise 500, do I then have to add the 500 calories to the 1200?? Just in simple terms, am I not dropping weight because I'm not eating enough. Scared to eat too much because if the scale goes up, I will be very unhappy . Thanks for any advice.

You can eat the exercise calories in addition to the 1200! Some people eat them all back, some eat back about half. I guess you figure out what works for you.

    that's the basic idea yes.

otherwise your body would be running on 700 calories, and that's just no good.

If you don't eat enough your body will hold on to what is stored.

Depends on how you calculate the 500. Nearly all forms of measurement are inaccurate, so it's suggested you don't eat them all back.

Basically the guide to follow is to eat all your calories while keeping fat, carbs, proteins all within the limits too. The calories you have gained from exercise take into account what you have set as your targets

It all depends though on what you have set as your target weekly weight loss and how many times you exercise a week. This will give you a different calorie target to someone who doesnt exercise and wants to lose 1lb per week for example. If your think it may be wrong, review your info in your profile.
