Hah, this feels like writing a personal ad. :p

The scoop on me:
- 40yo & married, live in the Midwest (US)
- as of this fall, both kids will be in college (empty-nester worries ahead!)
- battled about 40 lbs of excess weight entire life and have tried EVERYTHING (nutrisystem, WW, medifast, atkins, etc etc etc) and am rather worried my metabolism is forever hosed
- recently re-joined a gym and am going several days a week
- goal is to lose about 30 more pounds (sw: 178, cw: 175, gw: 145ish) - height: 5'5"
- hubby is supportive of efforts but doesn't completely grok how losing weight for women is harder than it is for men

I'd love to buddy up with people of similar ages/challenges! I joined MPF about 10 days ago and have been faithful about logging in and noting food/exercise. I'm a daily weigh-er, but know not to panic if I see a small gain here and there while I work on adding muscle to replace the fat.

Friends, anyone? :)
