This thread is going to get locked as it isn't supported by this site. But it isn't good for you. Your body can't get it's proper nutrition and 50% of your weight loss is muscle so you gain weight back. Also, if that picture is current, why you trying to lose weight?

Please don't do it. I tried it (the injections overseen by an MD)....I lost a lot of weight but gained it right back.

Fad diets don't work and any weight you lose will be water weight and precious muscle.

"HCG (Human Chorionic Gonadotrophin) is authorized in Canada only for treatment of women with infertility, and only in an injectable form. There is no scientific evidence that the use of HCG either by mouth (as drops under the tongue, as advertised on the Internet) or as a self-administered injection, could promote weight loss.

When used to treat a condition for which it is not indicated, such as weight loss, Human Chorionic Gonatrophin could cause serious side-effects. In women this could include painful cysts occurring as the result of over-stimulation of the ovaries."

HCG is not supported here because it is dangerous and dumb. Don't do it.

If HCG worked, you'd think pregnant women would have a difficult time gaining weight and wouldn't be starving all the time. Which is totally not my experience, having had 4 kids :) It isn't the HCG that makes you lose weight; it's the 500 calories starvation diet that goes along with it! Eat healthy, control your portions, and exercise regularly, instead!

Good luck with your weight loss, but the HCG diet has done nothing but HARM to people I know that used it.

The only reason people lose weight on that plan is you are only allowed to eat 500 calories a day. HCG has been scientifically proven to do NOTHING to help with weight loss or to make it safe to eat only 500 calories a day. It will not protect muscle, reset your metabolism or do anything else the snake oil salesmen that sell it claim. Dr. Simeons was a quack doctor. His "HCG protocol" has absolutely NO scientific backing and is not worth risking your health on.

Any doctor that pushes the HCG diet plan should be stripped of their license to practice medicine because they are being totally unethical and giving advice that goes against the conclusions of all reliable scientific research on the subject.

The HCG diet has been studied by many scientific organizations, and they all concluded that HCG, even the "real" injectable version, is no more effective than a placebo, and eating only 500 calories a day for weeks, as recommended by that plan, can cause more health problems than it solves.

Please read the articles on these websites before you try HCG. I know some people that put their faith in the HCG diet, and became very ill from malnutrition as a result. Then they regained more weight than they lost. Now they wish they never heard of HCG.

The Government is now in the process of getting all that fraudulent stuff off the market, and it's about time!

Not a very healthy diet. My own personal experience with it - triggered an old eating disorder. Has not been an easy road since.

    Dear Posters,

MyFitnessPal strongly recommends that our users follow the calorie guidelines automatically assigned by our site, unless they are under the direct supervision of a doctor.
