calories in hamhocks?

This probably doesn't make that much of a difference, but I thought I'd see if anyone else knows the answer to this:
I'm making a split pea soup. I will be using hamhocks to flavor the soup but they will be removed at the end. As it stands, the hamhocks add 740 calories to the pot of soup. I'm just wondering if that number is a bit off since they are just used for flavor.
