no, your net calories should be equal to whatever your calorie goal is before exercise.

if your goal is 1500 and you burn 300, you should eat 1800 which would leave you with a Net of 1500.

You have won the MFP sweepstakes! This is the secret that everybody will try to tell you is wrong. They will tell you to eat your calories back, but don't listen to them. They don't know what they're talking about.

Are you looking on your Food Diary page or your "My Home" page at the top? The "net" on the my home page is just how many calories you've consumed (post exercise deduction). If you are looking at the bottom of your Food Diary page and you see a red number at the bottom that says 700 then you have gone over your calorie goal (as in you've eaten 1900 calories).

The thing about goals is that you're supposed to reach them. At the bottom of your diary is says "Your Daily Goal" and next to that number is 1200 or whatever above that if you've exercised. Match that number.

I do not know depend on your goal

If you want to damage your body and health, lose your hairs or impair your brain function then yes 0 is the goal.

Change that---Thanks to those of you that were helpful! I posted this as a legitimate question because I am trying to get healthier and lose weight, and wanted to make sure I completely understood how the goals, net calories, etc work.
