Good morning!
I was hoping somebody had already started this.
It's a busy day today. I did manage a 30 minute walk this morning, but it was more like a stroll. I have Bible study this morning, then I need to see about going to see Alex's doctor to say goodbye.
I need to go to the store and get some food to eat for tonight and tomorrow for lunch. I'll have to go to the store tomorrow morning as well to finish up. I don't think Alex will handle all the excitement of the day and a long grocery trip too, so the majority will be done tomorrow. That also gives me more time to figure out what I want. I am stuck in a rut and tired of the same things. More now than before I am craving junk food.
I need a little extra time on the grocery list to make sure I choose the right things.
I'd better get ready to go. Have a good day everyone!

So, yeah, still here. I made the major mistake of booking the wrong date for the train. Luckily, I was only two days off so my mom and I just lost our little weekend getaway - and spa treatments and afternoon tea and cooking classes - sigh - but we will still get there in time to meet everyone else on Sunday. So two more days here for me. It's going to be 104 today.
Yesterday I walked about 7 miles. Today, I'm going to yoga class and to the gym.

Hello all! I have not been able to get myself pulled together enough in the morning this week to have time to post before I get to work. I bought some running shoes yesterday, but I'm not 100% sure about them. I thought I'd try running with them on the treadmill for a few minutes - I figure as long as I'm inside and I don't get them sweaty that it should be OK. So I'll probably do that after work. It's pretty hot and sticky today, but I'll probably still get a walk in after lunch. And then I have to really clean the house for a friend who's flying in tomorrow.
Thursday boogaloo :flowerforyou:
Edit - oops, just saw your post, Mary! Sorry for the mishap. Stay cool!0 -
Hi pebbs,
Today is another cardio session, probably elliptical, followed by my last choir practice of the season. Oh, and I have to go to the gyno today, which I hate. So, my main goal is to go to the gym afterward when what I want to think is "I deserve to rest because of the trauma of the doctor". (I'm trying to recognize these habits.)
I'm also going to see if he has any input in the difficulty of the weight maintenance.
My other goals are to stay within my calories, work on my project for an hour and try to stay cool. It's pushing 90 degrees here, and the triple whammy of heat, pollution and pollen makes it no fun to be outside when it's this hot.
Take care of yourselves boogaloo!:flowerforyou:0 -
Good luck at the doc, V. I really ought to schedule an appointment, but I keep not doing it. :ohwell:
I'm not sure about this 'yoga butt' thing! :laugh: I probably need to work on my flexibility anyway, and the strength would be a bonus - I just don't have any classes at my gym that are convenient for me, and so far I don't love practicing at home with DVDs. I think it would probably be good to do some lower-body strength stuff to help strengthen the muscles around my knee so that I don't keep torquing it in aerobics or running. The irony is that squats and lunges are uncomfortable for me because of my knee! Sigh.
Ok, I really should be working. Must go!0 -
Hi All! Gearing up for my trip to Detroit (whooo hoooo) and getting last minute stuff done, so just time for a quickie.
Today:
* Vitamins (done)
* Water
* Burn 800 cals at gym
Tomorrow:
* Yoga before getting on plane
Hope you all enjoy the rest of the week and I'll check in from Detroit!0 -
OK, so it's official: My doctor is a dork.
Sample weight-loss related statements:
"You should be losing two pounds a week, if that's what you're eating. You shouldn't weight train as much. (actually true if I'm just looking for scale numbers) Something must be creeping in preventing you from losing (translation: You're lying to me, fatty.)"
The only worthwhile suggestions were that I insist on a two hour fasting blood sugar test. (my GP didn't seem to think I needed one) and that I should quit counting calories as "that's not what life is about, and you might be obsessing on it."
Oh, and he said I "should be very proud" of my exercise regime, so I'm off to the gym. The elliptical calls.
I still think he's a dork. It's a beautiful, high-tech office, but the guy has zero bedside manner. Also, I'm pretty pissed that he accused me of lying to him. Not really cool, despite what Dr. House says. . .0 -

V, I love this! It made me laugh because I can relate. I just fell victim to those very words...well almost those very words. Mine involved food though. It's been a tough day and I really don't feel like working out. You cry at yoga, I bawl my eyes out at Bible study. It's so embarrassing. Oh well. I'm not the only one, but it's still embarrassing. DH has been in a horrible mood all week too. He found a bank error that cost us about $700. I wouldn't really say it was the bank's fault. He already feels bad enough so I am trying not to rub it in. Mary you are not the only one to make mistakes. I am sorry that you don't get to have the weekend getaway that you planned. :frown:
Sounds like everyone is going through a bit of a rough time. Alex apparently is having a bad day too. Something must be going around.
Don't worry, be happy boogaloo?
