filling breakfast foods (on the go)

i find that very few "on the go" types of breakfasts really keep me full very long. greek yogurt, fruit, etc.

i've noticed lately that when i have a good solid breakfast that keeps me full until lunch, i do better throughout the day (i'm much less hungry and less likely to binge) vs. having a small breakast, mid morning snack and then lunch.

i've had bagels with a little cream cheese for breakfast the past week or so and they keep me full all morning but they're probably the worst choice of breakfast i could be making.

besides the obvious "wake up earlier and cook/eat a full breakfast" what are some things i can bring with me on the go and eat during my commute to work that have very very little prep/cook time? i love eggs but they're not really something that's quick to eat and i don't know of any ways to cook something like that ahead of time that can store well (besides a hardboiled egg).

    Peanut butter sandwich on wholemeal bread tends to keep me full for a fairly long time.

    Hi, I find that porridge made with either 1% fat or semi-skimmed milk done in the microwave, makes a very filling breakfast and its quick to make too. Add a banana or some other type of fruit to it if you like. I normally have this around 7am, and then won't be hungry until around 11/12ish.

    Can you put oatmeal in a little thermos (like the kind that are 6" or so tall) with some walnuts and dried fruit? Quick oats only take a few minutes in the microwave. The walnuts give an extra nutritional boost and some staying power to keep you full.

    I've heard of people making little omelets in muffin tins and then freezing them... then you can take one out at a time and heat it in the microwave and have breakfast to go. That plus some fruit would be good and a litle more fun than a hardboiled egg. I think there are recipes all over the place for these.
  • Any kind of protein bar. I try to find protein bars with at least 10 grams of protein. Sometimes I'll have Odwalla bars that have 14 grams of protein. Good flavors and very satisfying. Eat that with coffee and I am actually pretty full!

    Peanut butter and banana sandwich (on English muffin or nutrgrain waffles are my fave).
    Also agree with protein bar and a piece of fruit.
