Only 10lbs: on...off...on...off...on...off

Hi, I'm 43 and live in the heart of the UK. I only have 10lbs to lose, which is nothing in the great scheme of things, but this 10lbs has been on and off, two or three times a year for five years or so. Now is the time to get rid of it and stay rid of it, before I get to that age where my metabolism drops to that of a turtle!
After 20 years, I stopped smoking when I was 34 (my goal was to stop before 40) Until then, I could eat what I wanted and never deviated from a 28' waist. Now I'm a 32, wearing a 30 cinched in so tight that my face is purple!
I work with profoundly disabled students, which is a physical and satisfying job. I also have a home and three teenagers to keep under control, but my hobies/leisure are quite lazy: reading, writing, watching TV. etc
My eating is quite good during the day, when I am busy, but in the evenings, I'm a-munching like it's an Olympic sport!
I live surrounded by fields and bridle tracks, so plan to start walking and rambling again, now that the good weather is hopefully on its way, and I have an elliptical trainer that I can begin to use again (once I have taken my entire wardrobe off it!)
Here goes...Wish me luck.
