Lost my Focus

I'm starting back up again with the food diary after getting distracted for a few weeks. Since I started, I have lost 6 pounds and then gained back three of those pounds. It used to be so easy for me to lose weight, but now it feels much harder!
I have kept up with exercising every day and am really trying to stay focused with food portions and calories.
My biggest downfalls- I eat when I am bored or tired.
Any help or encouragement would be great!

I feel the same exact way! It is so much harder now....the food diary really does help me keep on track - as long as I am honest and log everyday.

When I am bored I try and do something, like go outside with the kids, take a ride, something to get my mind off food.

    Good luck!
  • ah! me too! i'm been a little lazy recently with my log. but i'm trying to stay motivated by reading more instead of watching tv.. as tv has become my source of "i'm bored, trashy shows on mtv and vh1 and a bowl of bbq flavored ruffles sounds good!" hahaha plus since it's hot out, and i've gotten lazier with walking during the day, i go swimming to mix it up more. plus, i'm able to burn more in a half an hour swimming.. which helps when i do eat those ruffles  i know i'm exercising way more than i used to, but i don't feel like i've lost anything. and the scale says i've only lost a few lbs. :grumble:

:flowerforyou: just use you best effort. thats all you can ask yourself. my fiance is deployed Marine right now and i use the USMC words of encouragement to keep me going. "pain is weakness leaving the body" has been my chant lately and is what allows me to know that whether that pain is a pain in my butt log that i need to keep doing, or my calves burning from jogging more than i'm used to, i know it's just one more step towards the ultimate goal for me--being a stronger person inside and out.

Thanks for the encouragement. I am working on changing my habits to distract myself from eating.
I like the USMC words of encouragement about pain being weakness leaving the body. I will remember that when I'm tempted to wimp out on my workouts!

    Thanks guys!
