Anyone here have surgery or cancer?

I had lost 44 pounds and had a cancerous tumor removed 10 days ago. They think the got it all!!! I am still recovering and on pain meds but anxious to get back on a weight loss plan. Have about 10-15 more pounds to go.
Anyone have surgery in the middle of their weight loss journey? I will talk to my doctor about it more at the follow up but wondering when it is safe to resume losing weight again. When I found out I needed surgery I switched to maintaining about 3 weeks before the surgery.
