So on Friday I had a desire to run a race. I called my husband at work and told him to get in tthe proper mind set because we are running a race Saturday. It was our first road race. A nice 10K out in dutch country farmland. It was awesome! Me and my hubby crossed the finish line in 59:45.

PA Dutch country? Right up the road from me. I ran The Bird in Hand Half Marathon up there last fall.

I am doing a half too! my first ever super excited (and scared)! very far. LOL.

Good luck for your first half, hope you enjoy it

I was defeated psychologically by my long run today, doing just over 10 miles instead of 12 :-(

Long runs are challenging!!! AND 10 is still GOOD!!! - excellent! - I don't think my long runs for my half will go above 9, jikes.

My long runs aren't over 10 for a 1/2 either. But the first time I ran a 1/2, I ran 13 miles during one of my long runs. Just for confidence, I thought I needed to know that I could actually run the distance. One day I hope to run a full and definitely won't run the full 26.

16 miles for the week of 5/6

Greenland Trails was an awesome race. I should have run with water (hot and not a bit of breeze for most of the course), but other than that it was amazing. I will run it again next year, I'm sure.

Excellent! I looked it up and it looks like a great race!!!
