Just started this program so I am sure others will have more insight than I do. My only suggestion would be to NEVER give up. Even if you fall off for a day, a week or even a month, don't think it is over. Get back at it. I find that I always feel better on the days I exercise. I'm hoping to get back into my routine of working out 6 days a week- it is a good addiction. I guess I will have to keep pushing myself till it feels 'normal' again. Good luck!!0

I just started a few months ago...this is a great place to start... the diary logging is great to keep track of what you are eating and the friends are beyond wonderful motivation! Add me if you want!0

Thanks! Wish I was able to get into a workout routine. I just find it difficult to exercise with my kids, (2 and 4 years). But maybe I'm just making excuses and not trying hard enough, or being creative enough.0

Hi - I've been using myfitnesspal since about mid February. I've lost about 11-12 pounds (depends on the day) so far (and went on a 7 day cruise at the end of March). I will say the weight doesn't disappear as magically as it appears. I can lose 2-3 pounds over a week or so and then go back up 2-3 pounds - but after a few days go back down again. It's frustrating but give yourself time and understand that your body adjusts and if you are exercising muscle weighs more that fat. I have a office job so for me exercising daily has been almost a must. I suspect you are busy with two children but when you can, get some extra exercise - with the kids is great and fun. I'm also very faithful on entering EVERYTHING I eat - including all snacks. If you do I think you will be amazed how many calories you really are consuming (my snack total for the day usually is larger than any meal). I have found the information helpful for me to adjust portions and what I eat (removing calorie items). I still allow myself most things but if I have some of the killers (doughnuts, big cookies...) I'll have a half or quarter. I like almost any fruit so I get lots of sweets that way and still have small chocolates and lighter cookies (like shortbread). While I haven't lost a tremendous amount of weight yet I do feel better, I've had to buy some smaller cloths already and a recent blood test really showed great results across the board. I have noticed if I complete my meal log for the day and am under my net calorie count (food minus exercise calories) the little "if you keep this up you'll weigh xxx in 5 weeks" message doesn't seem to hold. I'm on the 2 pounds a week plan (net 1200 calories for me) and have found that 1 pound average is more in line with reality for me (I am 50 - so everything gets slower in life).
So I've babbled on here to let you know that it does work if you put in the work. There's no magic and it does take more time than you may hope but you will feel better and thinner in a pretty short amount of time. So welcome, be honest with your entries and stick with it - it all ends up just being math of burning more calories than you consume for awhile.0
