Alright guys,
This is the one and only warning Im giving in this thread. Discussing and debating what the topic is is more than fine, but out right attacking each other is another.
Thank you for your cooperation, and enjoy your stay on MyFitnessPal

This bothers me.....why would you assume the following: "My question is, were you on a low carb or ketosis diet? Or are you coming off of a VLCD diet (HCG, post ED, etc)?"
There are many factors for women that cause slower met. like thyroid issues, pregnancy, age, eating too little, not the right vitamins since women tend to have lower amounts of Vit D and vit d can cause a problem with weight loss etc. But again you and the other guy are the all knowing god's on this matter. And if she went from 1200 a day to 1900 she'd gain weight right away.
If you want to take offense, so be it, but I can tell you from the 200 + people on this board that I have help, I have a 99% success rate. If you don't like my information, don't read it or prove some scientific data to prove me wrong. I am always open to change and further my education, but you have yet to provide any good information.0 -
So what I am concluding, you probably have a very slow metabolism due to the lack of lean muscle mass. Because if you were 117 pounds and if you were luck at 18% body fat, then you only have 96 lb of lean muscle. And considering women can generally gain 1/2 lb of muscle ever two weeks, then they can only get 26 lbs of muscle a year, and that isn't very common. Now, a lot of what you said may be true in terms of water retention. My question is, were you on a low carb or ketosis diet? Or are you coming off of a VLCD diet (HCG, post ED, etc)?
My initial estimates are to have you around 1700-1900 calories but we can look at more details.
I do think my metabolism is slow...
I have ZERO idea of what type of protein diet I was on...what are these things below...????were you on a low carb or ketosis diet? Or are you coming off of a VLCD diet (HCG, post ED, etc)?
I think I know post ED(eating disorder???)...and no..I was only so low b/c I was lossing / maintaining really well with mfp since July 2011 and when I got braces on I just kept loosing...(Im 34 y/o btw). I had always fluctuated bewteen 122 -125.
Based on that, you are around 1430 for a BMR and with your exercise, you should be find around 1700 for "weight/fat loss" Either way, I would suggest weight training. That is the only true way to cut fat.

VLCD = very low calorie diet. Generally those when eating less than 1200 calories. ED is eating disorder and HCG is a diet where you eat 500 calories a day. All of these kills muscle mass so I am trying to see a correlation between low muscle mass and diet.

Definitely not any of those things...i have always eaten around 1200...and used to not eat excercize calories back...not really realizing (but my workouts only consisted of the half hour JM video at the time) . I started focusing on eating back my calories when I started at the gym in February when my calorie burns increased dramatically...Possibly I was not eating enough. I never really thought about it
1700 cals seems reasonable...and I will read the article u posted...
Thanks!0 -

Well eating 1200 calories can be a problem too. Its below a persons metabolic rate which will require your body to get some energy from muscle in ordee to maintain normal function. So that could have been part of the problem. Also dont stress your weight. You are already in a health weight range. If anything look at body fat and lean muscle mass.0 -
I agree with Psulemon. You are in a healthy weight range and look good based on your pictures. Build some lean muscle mass and, honestly, I think your doing great!0
