@lefty421 that tea sounds good, i'll look out for that in the shops.0

make some jello chocolate pudding (sugar free) hits the spot for me when this happens you can even top with some cool whip or light whip topping0
-
all your tips have been amazing, & im doing so good im drinking alot of water and chewing gum, but you are right i shouldnt deprive myself of it instead im going to work out more and if i have some chocolate then atleast i know i've added it in, but hopefully i wont have any at all.0

I discovered quaker chocolate chip oatmeal recently and it has helped my chocolate craving alot!0
-
I have a piece of dark chocolate every day, and I agree with others who said that the dark chocolate is more satisfying and less tempting to binge on (and good for you, too!). I find if I have a bit each day, I never get the insane craving that makes me want a whole bar! (This principle probably applies to more than chocolate- if there's something you love, let yourself have a little now and then. If you completely deprive yourself you will binge in a weak moment.)0

I swear by Bettern' PB Chocolate. To me, it tastes delicious! I like it a little sweeter so I add 1 tsp of agave nectar. Still if you have two tablespoons its only 100 calories, 4 grams of protein and 2 grams of sugar (w/o agave). I feel like I'm eating chocolate frosting out of a can!0

First of all...thank you! I am currently going through this and I am tearing the chocolate candy up! There is nothing I can do about it except let it pass; because no chocolate candy is safe around me, right now! :frown:0

I'm not a martyr. When it's that TOM I crave sweets, red meat and grease.
Today I had a mini pizza (sooo greasy) for lunch and THREE chocolate ice cream bars. I count it all in and just adjust the rest of the day (had veg plate for dinner to make up for it) to fit within my calorie limits. If eating crap keeps me from killing people one week a month, so be it.
Just work it into your calorie plan.0 -
Yep. I find that the week before and then at the start of the week I turn in to a hunger machine!! I am just insatiable. Not even a specific craving, I just feel like my stomach is hollow and I need to fill it! And then again I always have the one day first where I am not hungry at all and just want to sloth around. Maybe a good day to schedule lots of veggies to prepare for the upcoming hunger monster :P
I plan on marking down notes next time, so I know my patterns. When the chocolate craving is due to hit I will already have worked it in to my diary and when I'm hungry hungry .. I don't know, maybe I will make sure I have more exercise scheduled in to dull food cravings and compensate for a larger dinner to comfort my hollow tummy :P
I think if we know our own patterns we can prepare for it and get better0 -
I love the skinny cow mini fudgesicles. They're pure chocolate goodness and only 50 calories! If you are really craving chocolate, you can have two and they're still only 100 calories. Plus, since it's ice cream, it takes a bit longer to eat so your brain registers that you're eating chocolate for like 5 minutes. I think even the regular supermarket fudgesicles are really low in calories to. That, and as a few people have suggested, you can always work out a little bit more that day to make up for the calorie increase.0

Just want to say a BIG thank you to all you lovely ladies for helping me today! I ended up eating chocolate but really really slowly to saver them lol. and @Tanyaka thats a really good idea im going to start writing them down in a calendar so i can organise what to do and be prepared. Hope you all have a great day! xx0
-
I was going to suggest those fudgesicles, too!
But really, depending on your body, a day or two of indulging probably won't derail you too much.0 -
Hot chocolate is a good way to really streeeeetch your chocolate fix. I also get the Ghiradelli squares, that way it's e sasier to eat a smaller portion since they are individually packaged.
I will advise, if you are getting a craving for something specific (for me its ice cream), I think it's best to work it into your calories and have what you want, because then you will be satisfied.
Magnum minis icecream bars are great. Real, decadent icecream and Belgian chocolate, 160 cals.
I agree with everything you said!0 -
When it comes to chocolate, I am weak! I eat it every day. BUT now I only 30 grams a day (2 small bars at night with my 2 cups of tea) all day I eat well cos I know I get to have my treat later. I buy mini bars to stop me eating a block. I allow myself this daily treat so that I don't crave a massive binge. Infact I haven't cut myself off entirely from any food, but make wiser choices and eat smaller portions. Have the chocolate, just not ALL the choc in the shop lol0
-
I want to eat everything, sometimes I have total binge days where I eat everything in sight, my boyfriend wonders where I put it all lol......clearly it goes to my *kitten* :-/ I just try too keep the foods I "crave" out of my house and hide my money so I don't drive to Macca's lol0
-
That's the only time my wife eats chocolate. You put "Women only" you had to know we would look but at least I am answering your question based on what I know0
-
Mine is usually so bad that I actually don't have an appetite. I literally feel sick. Sometimes I will crave chocolate a few days before. But I don't have a big sweet tooth so I never have it in the house. :-/ Sorry I can't help answer your question.0
-
Women generally (*generally* as in not all the time, not every woman, just most :P ) crave chocolate because they are magnesium deficient during TOM. Try taking some supplements and the cravings should settle down.0
-
I get "eat everything is sight" cravings.
THIS. I can eat non stop and never be 'full'...0 -
Yes! I've found that eating something like Trader Joe'e Fiberfull peanut butter and chocolate bars will help, if I space two of them (130 each) through the day.
What's funny is that I've had a partial hysterectomy, and so don't have the most obvious sign of Aunt Flo's bloating, except for weight gain and cravings.0 -
When I go through my chocolate cravings I throw a bag of small chocolates (dark if possible) into the freezer and toss one in my mouth and slowly let it melt. Kisses and Hershey's miniatures work great. As a side not I used this when I quit smoking too.0
-
Skinny Mocha from Starbucks. A Grande is only 100 calories and only like 7g of sugar.
Also - DARK CHOCOLATE. or chocolate protein shakes!!! yum!0 -
I eat a half of Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate Bar...half=90 calories Save the other half for tomorrow0
-
I don't have cravings. I just want to eat everything in sight. I like Jello Temptations mousse- it's only 60 calories for each cup, very low fat and low carb. I have started eating these for my dessert when I am wanting chocolate.
Everytime you are starting to crave, go for a run, pick up some weights, etc. I used to never workout during my monthly visit but I have found that the workouts really help the visit and what I choose to eat at that time.0 -
I swear by hauling my bum to the gym when the period cravings hit. Last thing I want to do (first: sofa, Snuggie, my bodyweight in Mars bars), but it works. Then an Options mint madness when I get home - and a lot of teeth-gritting once the gym-endorphins wear off!0

Here are some snacks that I like: http://www.myfitnesspal.com/blog/Lect/view/the-snacks-i-eat-the-most-1892260

try dark chocoate that is 72% or more cocoa. dark chocolate doesn't leave the sweet after taste that makes you crave more.
Good luck!0 -
I get "eat everything is sight" cravings.
ditto.0 -
I dealt with this last week.... I went to the store. Picked up a king size pack of m&m's. I ate 5, and gave the rest away. Fortunately I haven't craved any since.0

Go for the 70% or darker! That stuff has health benefits but only just a tiny bit a day is good. Practice self control. We all go through it!0
