Is this enough exercise?

Hey everyone,
I am currently doing around 30 minutes of power walking with some jogging five times a week.(M-F) I've been pretty good about tracking and staying under my calories too. I am just worried that I won't lose any weight because I am not doing enough exercise. What do you think?

    Hey J,

80 percent of your goals will be attributed to nutrition.

You’re doing great. Just keeping logging, keeping tracking, and you will eventually progress into more challenging workouts. The hardest part is showing up and you’re already developing positive habits.

    Keep up the excellent work!

It sounds like you've got the bases covered, for now. As you start losing weight and your metabolism adjusts, you might reach a plateau and need to up the exercise in order to keep getting results.

Basic resistance training can help you burn a lot more calories than jogging alone. Even if you don't have a gym membership or a set of dumbbells at home, you can always push-ups, sit-ups, etc. There's also a great Nike app that has a zillion different workouts on it.

If you get impatient with the slow rate of loss you're seeing, then you'll know it's time to up the intensity. Find a balance that works for you :)

This is a good start. You will have to add to it later, but we all start some where.
