HRM vs. Jillian Michaels

Hey all,

I recently bought Jillian Michael’s work out for the Wii and I must say, it’s a lot of fun.

I went over my calories yesterday by about 400 (yes, ooops!) and decided to work them off on the Wii.
So I put on my Polar F11 and did the workout for almost an hour!

My HRM said I had burnt 499 calories, but according to the game, I only burnt 270 calories...

Which is right?

I would say the heart rate monitor is more accurate. Keep in mind that nothing is ever going to be 100%, but the HRM is attached to your body and the game was made to fit many types of people, so a person who weights 200 pounds would always burn XX calories in the game, while in real life it depends on where your heart rate is it...

I'd definitely trust the hrm first.

thats what I thought. I usually trust the HRM until I read up about Background calories and if the HRM considers them or not... I think I should definitely burn more than 270 cals in almost an hour exercise.
