Wondering if anyone has had this experience (or if it's just a coincidence).... I have been on an 1800 calorie eating plan for about a week. In the past my diet consisted mostly of fast food (lots of fat). I've noticed for the past two days, my face has felt very dry... I'm slathering on extra moisturizer to combat the dryness. Now that I'm eating a balanced diet and not getting TONS of fat, does this have anything to do with my dry skin? (I don't see my doctor until next week, but thought I'd ask around and see if anyone else noticed drier skin when they have drastically reduced fat intake). Thanks for any input.

During the winter, I get lots of dry patches on my face. This is my routine:
-Make sure to wash with a NON-foaming cleanser. Cetaphil (from the drugstore) is good. You can also look into oil cleansing. MAC, Boscia, and Shu Uemura make good ones.
-Pat dry your face. Never rub. Apply a hydrating toner while your skin is still damp. I use MAC Fix Plus spray all year long because it hydrates and has some vitamins and minerals.
-Apply a thick (but not heavy) moisturizer. I highly recommend Paula's Choice Hydrating Treatment Cream. It is very affordable and there is always a sale going on on her site. At night time, I use a little extra.
Hope these ideas help. It doesn't hurt to keep your body hydrated by drinking tons of water too0 -
I seem to have the opposite. My skin is starting to clear up now that I'm eating healthier.0

Seconded. Whenever I've run into this issue, it's been due to drinking much less water than usual. I pick up the quantity (back to normal) and after a few days and it goes away.0
