Morning pebbs!
Today is Bikram at four, a little teaching, a trip to the chiropractor, working on my project, cleaning the bathroom, produce shopping.
When did my "day off" get so crazy?
Other than that, it's staying around my calories, eating clean all day, vitamins and water.
TGIF Boogaloo!
Take care.:flowerforyou:0 -
Yesterday, when it reached 106, I thought, hey, this is warm enough for Bikram. Then, I thought you were crazy V. Though if the sun wasn't so angry, it wouldn't be so bad (at 9pm when it was only 100, but dark, it wasn't painful).
I went to a beauty school yesterday to get a pedicure and haircut. That was a bit of a mistake. There wasn't anything wrong with the pedicure, it was just shorter than it should have been - and it was obviously inexperienced. She really cut my hair though - more than just the inch. It wouldn't bother me except it takes forever for my hair to grow out. CP has long, beautiful hair that I could never have (I've grown my out for 20 years, it WAS at my lower shoulderblades). Oh well, at least it was cheap. In the continuation of pampering myself for missing out on spa weekend, I'm getting a massage today. I'm always a little nervous before a massage, not sure why.
So today: walk, massage, lunch, yoga at home, walk some more, dinner, try once again to leave for California.
Have fun in Detroit, WL.
California here I come, part 2, reboot boogaloo!0 -
Howdy.
I had a bad eating day yesterday. It was just not a good day. On top of that I had several dreams last night about being nauseated and vomiting, just to wake up and find out that I really am nauseated off and on. I think I may have gotten some very mild food poisoning. I feel so gross this morning. I still need to go to the store since we have no food in the house, and I want to go by the library real quick. Steve asked me if I am pregnant. Uh, probably not. I tend to get nauseated a lot for some reason. Sensitive tummy I guess.
Alex has already cried once this morning. I don't feel good. Yesterday was not a good day. DH has had a bad week. I'm ready for this week to be over. Sorry. I'm complaining.
I don't know what kind of exercise I am going to get in. I need to clean up the house just in case we have company this weekend. I need to clean it up anyway. Yesterday I felt blah so I didn't clean anything. Alex's OT came over and said, "Your house is always so tidy!" She must go to some messy houses! I was embarrassed that it was as messy as it was.
I'd better get ready to go so I can be done by lunch.
Gonna get better boogaloo!

It's the sun that makes the heat unbearable for me. The other day, I was waiting for the bus. . .I think it was just under 80 degrees but really, really sunny. . .and I was dying.
There's also something about Bikram where the sweating is part of the draw for me. (I have no idea why actually. . .) It's as if I say to myself "I set aside the next 90 minutes to drip like a crazy person." At any other place (except the gym and the yoga studio) I hate to sweat. Go figure. . .0 -

I didn't mind the sweating in Ashtanga - though I would insist on having my water - but I just poking fun at you :flowerforyou:0 -
I just saw this in an article:
“Body image is a lot harder to change than the actual physical body is,”
- wow
and:
“If we could all look in the mirror and say, ‘Hello, Gorgeous!’ I just think the world would be a better place for women.”

My studio isn't quite as militant as some. . .we can have water basically whenever we want it (after the warm-up poses (the first five). I wouldn't stay if it was more "drill sargeant-y". We had a few teachers come through at first that didn't stay (thank God. . .I wouldn't have lasted.)
Oh, and great article. . .I've actually called it the "phantom fat". . .I thought I had invented that term. . .Could relate to many quotes.0 -
Good Morning! Off to Motor City tomorrow...
I met my goal yesterday of burning 800 calories and it felt great. I'd like to burn 500 today, will squeeze it in somehow.
Mary, sorry to hear about your travel snafu but I'm glad you are forging ahead with the pampering anyway! If you feel like getting a GREAT (best I ever had) and CHEAP massage while you are here, there is an amazing place called Thai Sabai in Westwood. http://www.thaisabai.com/
Have a great Friday! I'm going to enjoy myself today and then going to a Whale Wars party tonight at my sister's place. Iceberg Boogaloo!0 -
I love getting massages - but I have a regular person that I go to so I always know it will be good. I used to get frustrated before I found her because it was a little hit-or-miss (I like deep tissue work, so sometimes they don't use as much pressure as I would like). Sorry about the haircut, though, Mary. Mine is long enough now that most people won't notice even if I cut off 4 inches at a time. I'm afraid to really cut it, though - it's never been shorter than my shoulders, and is so fine and straight that I think it would look really flat unless I did some crazy layer thing that I don't want to have to spend time styling. Sorry - ramble! :blushing:
Interesting article about body image. I definitely can relate. It has taken some getting used to realize that just getting to a healthy weight doesn't translate automatically into a healthy body image. I still feel fat sometimes, am occasionally terrified of re-gaining, and am very aware of the parts that still aren't (and never will be) perfect. Sigh!
Have fun in Motown, WL. Be sure to let us know when new episodes of Whale Wars go online - I looked last weekend but only saw the first 2 episodes. And safe travels to you too, Mary.
Hmm, maybe I should talk about diet or exercise instead of just blathering on. I just had a walk after lunch, and tonight I will be cleaning until my friend gets here (late flight). Maybe pushups. Hopefully tomorrow we will be able to get out for a hike or something - he lives in Colorado and misses the green.

I wish I could find a masseuse that I like. I like deep tissue as well, but only in certain areas. This guy was good, but he focused on my back (3/4 of the massage), when I asked him to focus on my legs. I have yet to have someone really focus on my legs. My neck is tender, I told him so, but I never know if the slight discomfort is bad pain or good pain until afterward. I now have a headache, so bad pain. Sometimes I think they are taught one method and no matter what you say to them, they do that method.
Anyway, I now need a nap, but I'll walk and do yoga instead.0
