Healthy Snacks

Help! I have a dish full of candy on my desk. Typically I find I can avoid the sweets (I make sure to buy things I don't like..lol). But I still get hungry in the afternoon and typically forget to pack any snacks. I've decided to go to the grocery store at lunch today and buy some healthy snacks. The problem is that I don't know what to buy. Any suggestions??

I often like having a piece of fruit and some nuts. My go-to is a banana with some almonds, but you can substitute with whatever you happen to enjoy.

Also, you can keep them on your desk where that candy is and then it's an easier decision. I keep some nuts and oatmeal packets in my locker at school in case I ever get hungry when I've failed to bring anything along. Even minimal planning can make a big difference.

    My favorites:
    String Cheese
    Chobani 100 calorie yogurts
    Banana
    Apple + peanut butter
Archer Farms Sunny Cranberry Trail Mix (get it at Target)
Carrots + Hummus or 100 calorie wholly guacamole packet
Celery + Peanut Butter or ranch dressing
    Protein Bar
Pumpkin Protein Muffin (recipes board has the recipe)
Chobani vanilla yogurt + berries + cocoa pomegranate granola (sold at Target)
    Greek Yogurt Frozen popsicles
Roasted Chicken breast + wholly guacamole 100 calorie packet
    Edamame + sea salt
  • Carrot and celery sticks with hummus
Dried fruit (not a lot though!) - I usually like the small boxes of raisins and dried apricots
Celery sticks filled with low fat soft cheese
    Grapes
    String cheese
    Greek yogurt with granola/fruit
    Nuts & seeds
