Practice Obstacles?

Last Saturday I did the Survival Race in North Texas, and had a lot of fun. I want to do more like that, since I don't really like to run, the obstacles make it a lot more interesting.

Before the race, however, I didn't realize how much my fear of heights would figure into it. I made it over the net wall after coming down once, talking myself calm, and going back up and over as fast as I could. I got stuck straddling the 10 ft plank wall though, because I couldn't reach a foothold on the other side.

I REALLY want to work on that. I have always hated that I'm so afraid, and I've never been able to help it. I do things that scare me anyway, but sometimes I can't make it all the way through. (Like on top of that wall. My hands and legs were shaking so bad, I thought I might be stuck up there forever. My heartrate jumps just thinking about it.) I hope that maybe if I do it A LOT though, like a couple times a week instead of every few months, I might be able to break through. Maybe gain faith in my own ability to hold on while I find a foothold, if nothing else. Is there anything like that? My gym doesn't have anything. Are there climbing gyms or year-round obstacle courses?
