Hi yall, I am new. I was recommended by a co-worker.. L-Carnitine, she said it has helped her with losing weight and helped with energy besides eating healthier and working out. Have any of you tried L-Carnitine? What are the benefits?

It does help! The benefits are that it lightens your bank account, therefore giving you less money to spend on food.

In some studies it has shown promise in reducing physical/mental fatigue.

The most promising analog seems to be LCLT, but most haven't been shown to be that effective esp regarding fat loss

This is true. I was just highlighting that there is a possibility that acetyl-l-carnitine might help with fatigue (energy) although the tests I have seen have been done on the elderly and people with fibromyalgia. While this would not directly help with fat loss....if there was decreased fatigue this might lead to more activity which could impact fat loss. Still wouldn't suggest going out and buying it to use it.

I was going to get the Dymatize brand - it's like 13 bucks on bodybuilding.com. I was getting it mainly for the mixed berry flavor to add to my shake. 13 dollars for 30 servings (1 month)... Give it a shot - if you like it, keep buying it; just don't expect any supplement to change your life dramatically...

If this were some $50/month product I'd tell you to pump the brakes, but $13? Not really a huge investment. I'm sure you could adjust your budget to afford $13 - just spend less on shakeology.com ;)

You could also try the Gaspari Anavite multivitamin - has Carnitine added. Decent reviews, I'm thinking of trying it myself for other ingredients.

Just offering suggestions to help save you money in the event you do choose to purchase this product.
