Yes, I have some great childhood memories. And since you won't tell me how you blew up your backyard, I'm not going to tell you my great memory. Yes, I'm still capapble of being ten.

Understandable. And my memories aren't near as exciting. Mostly riding our bikes through flooded areas, building forts in the hay barn, and swimming in the creek.

Best memories - driving long haul with my dad - sleeping in the sleeper and getting treats at the man camps.

Most memorable: the night he ran me over.
  • I have to say that meeting Sylvester McCoy on my birthday ranks pretty high up on the childhood memories list.
(as does meeting Russ Abbott and Ernie Wise (of Morcambe and Wise) )

Probably my most entertaining childhood memory, though certainly not the "best" in regards to warm fuzzies:

When I was 7 or so, my uncle sent me downstairs during Thanksgiving to get a 3 liter of Dr. Pepper from our extra fridge in the basement. He told me to be sure I shook it really well before I came back up the steps, and because he was the coolest uncle ever, I did it. So, I sat there for a good solid 5 minutes shaking this giant thing of soda as much as I could. When my grandfather opened it, it exploded so hard that 20 years later, we were still finding splashes of Dr. Pepper on the far side of the kitchen wall (15 feet away from the countertop) when we were scrubbing the house to sell it. The explosion emptied the entire bottle. Of course, my uncle was nowhere to be found, and I never told anyone he told me to do that for a good 15 years.

Playing dress-up and doing "fashion shows" for my grandmother at her house when she would take care of my friend and I after school. She was so patient in humoring us. She always complimented all of our "masterpieces"...lol.

    Too many to post

We're 3 brothers and I am the youngest and the oldest is 10 years older than me. In our house we used to have water tank which would flood whenever it would rain and the overflowing water would get out via a pipe we put up.

So in the rain, my eldest brother would put me on his shoulders and we would just take feel the water slapping us on our faces having kid fun. Then mom would have some Pakoras ready for us to eat with some tea and it was heaven.

    PS. Great topic

It was hilarious. Well, to everyone but those directly involved at the time. My grandfather has coined it, "The Dr. Pepper Incident"

    I have two.

    1. Spending the evening watching the demolition derby with family friends. My dads best friend and I went and got ice cream for all 13 of us that were there. My dad was out of town on work. Craig told me that since my dad traveled a lot for work, and wasn't always around, I could always come to him if I needed anything (this was before cell phones, so we didn't get to talk to my dad every night). He told me that since he had twin boys and no daughters, he always thought of me as his daughter. I was 9 years old. He was always good to me, so it was just a normal conversation. But that night, he went out on the boat with his wife and was killed by a drunk boater. That evening at the county fair means so much to me now, and 25 years later my dad is gone too, so I get to talk to both of them at the same time. They're buried maybe 50 yards away from each other and I am still very close with his wife and sons.

    2. Shooting clay pigeons over a cliff in Wisconsin. Hitting 8 out of every 10 that were fired. It was awesome. Especially since I beat most of the men and all the boys :)

^^Gotta love ghost in the graveyard! My neighborhood was mostly boys and my best friend and I were sick of losing so we once dug trap holes in the ground along the main path thru the woods where we played. Her brother fell and broke his ankle. We still laugh about it!

Summers spent at my grandparents's house and the exhilarating ride to the river in the back of my grandpa's station wagon. I can still remember how hot and sticky me and my cousins were -all piled up in the back-; the smells, sounds and breezy evenings sitting in the sidewalk.

My favorite childhood memory is when I was 9 years old and my parents sent me to Disney World alone.

Ah, Saturday mornings playing around on my SNES.. then immediately watching some cartoons. After that I'd run outside, play with the dog. Then maybe go to my huge box of toys and mess around with those. Get absolutely no HW done. Go back and play some more SNES.

Those were the good ol' days :)

Being chased my a menopausal bull elephant when I was 12 in kenya. I narrowly avoided being bitten by a mamba the same year.

Yet I was still devastated to leave africa. Im convinced to this day every animal on earth wants to kill me....yet I remain a hardcore vegetarian.

Note to self: Don't wear yellow T shirts in Africa.

Oh and this is sad, but I was a HUGE Spice Girls fan...I was very very happy during this time lol

So many!! All the summers I spent with my great grandparents, I still remember them taking me to visit my great great grandma. :) she was an amazing person. There was the time I was at their house, and climbing a tree in the back yard. I got halfway up the tree and got too scared to climb back down, so Grandpa had to get me down. He climbed up a ladder and got me down, and not even kidding, he was in his 80's then. Great Grandma trying to teach me to knit and crochet... Both of them getting up at 6 am just to sit and watch the sunrise while they drank their coffee... I could seriously make this reply go on forever...
