Motivational Quotes

I was running my first 5K on Sunday and just ahead of me was a girl and on the back of her shirt was the quote "Our greatest battles are that with our own minds" and I thought to myself "that is SO true". As I ran I thought more and more about all of the things that I never thought I would do that I HAVE done and all of the battles that I have fought and how my commitment to not let the difficult times define me have changed who I am for the better. Keeping that quote in my mind helped to push me to the finish line in record time (for me-- lol).
What motivational quotes help to propel you through a tough workout or tough times in general?

I saw this on Facebook. Imagine this... a picture of a fit lady, sporting running shorts and a sports bra, with her hands on her hips, looking up an outdoor set of steps (like the ones on Rocky)! The quote is "It doesn't get easier, YOU just get BETTER!" I love it!0

I have a bunch of these motivational posters on my computer. Here is one of the older quotes but still one of my favorites:
The Iron never lies
You can walk around outside and listen to all kinds of talk,
get told that you are a God or a total *kitten*,
The Iron will always kick you the real deal,
The Iron is the great reference point,
The all knowing perspective giver,
Always there like a beacon in the pitch black
I have found the Iron to be my greatest friend
It never freaks out on me, never runs
Friends may come and go,
But 200 pounds will always be 200 pounds0 -
And this one....
I do because I can
I can because I want to
I want to because you said I couldn't0 -
Those are all great!
I often wonder, at what point does running 10K (or any distance for that matter) become "easy"? I love the idea that it doesn't get easier, you just get better. I'll have to remember that one0 -
My absolute favorite quote from Leo Rosten:
"In some way, however, small and secret, each of us is a little mad . . .Everyone is lonely at bottom and cries to be understood:we can never enitrely understand someone else, and each of us remains part stranger even to those who love us . . .It is the weak who are cruel: gentleness is to be expected only from the strong. . .You can understand people better if you look at them - no matter how old or impressive they may be--as if they are children. . . (and especially this part of the quote)-Happiness comes only when we push our brains and hearts to the farthest reaches of which we are capable. . .The purpose of life is to matter-to count, to stand for something, to have it make some difference that we lived at all."
This is just simply beautiful.0
