Hi everybody, I'm Danielle.. I'm new..Sooo.... My husband works second shift, so I'm up late with him a lot. While being up late I tend to start "munching" sometimes tooo much! Any tips on how to curve my hunger?? I know eating at night is sooo not good! Thanks!

Why do you know this?
It's not true.
Seriously, think about this logically for a moment. By what biological process does your body magically make more calories out of a finite amount? Calories are calories and eating at night is perfectly fine.
If you convince yourself something is taboo, you'll feel less in control of it when you do it. If you understand this you are less likely to overeat during your night munches as well. Start tracking your calories, and even save calories specifically for that time, make it the "Magical Snacking Sexy Time" of your day. It doesn't matter when you eat, or how often, as long as you eat at a deficit if you want to lose fat
As for ways to curb hunger? You know I've recommended caffeine etc, (tea, coffee, take your pick) as it is what is in most diet pills and the only thing that does anything...but you know what?
Self control.
Self control curbs hunger. The moment you remind yourself that nobody can force yourself to do anything, it will get easier. Next time you wont eat till you are stuffed. Next time you will be okay with being hungry, next time you won't even realize you're doing it because it has become habit to be in tune with your ACTUAL hunger.0 -
I want to eat at night when I'm tired. Eating when I'm tired instead of when I'm hungry is counterproductive. Are you tired when you are waiting up for him? If so, work on your sleep schedule.
I know that I am going to eat at night normally, so I leave enough calories to do so. I don't eat between supper time and about an hour before bed, so that I am not eating constantly from supper until bedtime. What I currently find most satisfying to eat before bed - and of course everyone will be different - is a homemade sorbet. 1/2 frozen banana, some frozen berries, a soft unfrozen fruit, processed in the blender until smooth. I don't know if it is the cold that helps to make me feel more satisfied, the fact that I have to eat it slowly, or what, but that's what works for me.0 -
