White rice...

I know everyone has their own opinion on white rice....but the servings confuse me. I have 1 bag of Homai California Calrose Rice. It says for 1/4 c UNCOOKED rice is 155 calories. However, when I make it for my family I put 1.5 cups rice + 2 cups water in the rice maker. I have no idea how much it actually makes cooked---but I always eat around 8 oz (1 cup) of it. However, I have NO idea how many calories it is 1 cup cooked:huh: ...It doesn't help that the wording on the bag (besides the label) is all in another language:laugh: ...
Anyone use this particular brand of white rice and know how much 1 cup cooked yields calorie wise? Thanks for any info.

1.5 cups dry is 6 servings. as there are 6 1/4 cups in 1.5cups. so it all has 6x155+930 total0

Thanks for your quick response:flowerforyou: . I am aware that 1.5 cups is 6 servings---- but I have read that it makes more as rice expands when it is cooked. So, I am wondering since rice expands and changes the quantity---how many calories is in 8 oz of cooked rice? What I am trying to ask makes sense in my head---however I am having a hard time translating it :grumble: ..0 -
since on my white rice
1 cup uncooked = 2 cups cooked
it is natural to assume 1/4 cup uncooked would be 1/2 cup cooked
so take the cals and double it
found this online
The serving size refers to 1/4 dry (uncooked) product, this is the equivalent of 3/4 cup cooked rice

from searching the net it says rice expands 3times its size so i would think 1/4 cup uncooked would be 3/4 cup cooked.0

yep just searched online .. it might be the type of rice i buy .. but still counting as 1 cup when it is 3/4 cup is still reasonable when your unsure, (for me i prefer to over est. rather than under est.)0 -

I would rather double check and ask than over/under eat. Thanks to those that replied:flowerforyou: .0 -
When I make large quantities I always measure what it is dry (6 portions dry) and then I portion out 6 even cooked portions. That way it take out all the guess work.0
