I'm not sure I'm eating enough, please help.

I started dieting around a month ago, not counting calories but I cut out the junk food and started eating healthy. The foods I've been eating keep me full longer. I started MFP around 10 days ago. I'm having a difficult time eating the 1200 calories plus my exercise calories. I eat when I'm hungry and I eat healthy foods. After reading some posts I've realized that maybe I am putting my body in danger. I'm currently 5'5 and 158lbs. I'm trying to lose roughly 20lbs. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!

Calculate your BMR using the MFP tool (at the top, under the Tools tab). As long as you eat at least this much plus exercise calories, you're probably eating enough. Eating less will still result in weight loss, but a substantially higher portion of muscle will be burned compared to fat.0
