ChiRunning-anyone doing it and does it work?

Greetings! I have started running, but find that I suffer knee and leg pain for several days after a run, especially if I am doing a 5K event. Someone suggested ChiRunning to me and I am currently reading the book. I was just wondering if anyone is using this program for their running program, and what you think of it? Any feedback would be helpful as I enjoy the running, but not the days of pain afterwards.

I read the book, it was interesting. I do try to incorporate some of the principles, but honestly I think I ran very similar to that description anyway so it wasn't a huge change for me. I never had to deal with pain or injury from running, but I do think proper form can reduce the likelyness of being hurt.

Your leg pain can be as simple as doing too much too soon. But poor form can make it worse. All you can do is try out the form suggested in the book & see if that helps.

Chirunning takes a long time to read, and (at least for me) was just a lot to think about.

The Evolution running videos take a fraction of the time and employ the same basic principles. There's also some great drills.

I haven't read Chi Running but I've heard about it. I did read "born to run" and its a similar style. I firmly believe in a fore foot striking and running with your feet under you knees bent and short quick stride
