Do you care what sex they are?

A man I know is looking for a new therapist... got suggestions... and tells me he refuses to go to a man.

I'm intrigued. Frankly, if I'm getting rubbed I'm all in regardless of who is doing it.

My massage therapist is a straight man . . . and the only man that I'm not married to who won't get slapped for rubbing my *kitten* . . . and he's a really good *kitten* rubber.

This is a very good question/point. I think it's probably less of an issue for women as I think most women could care less who gives the massage. As a man, I would much rather be massaged by a woman because a woman's touch is more relaxing for a guy. I've been massaged twice and both times were by a woman. I really enjoyed it, and I wished I could do it more. However, my wife said I can't be massaged by a woman hence I haven't had a massage in quite some time.

Nope, women only. I don't want some guy rubbing me. I guess I do not have a logical rational. Do I need one?

Yes. Well ... no. I only have a preference for females because I find men massage a little too hard for me. Other than that, nope!

I prefer Korean ladies w/ the happy ending option.

Seriously folks. When I hurt my back powerlifting, I cared about who was going to help me get better, not the gender

No preference. I've only had a few massages though.

Best overall was from a gay male. He helped me with a massage during late pregnancy and he was awesome.

Second best was a straight male who found a knot in my back and worked that baby until my sinuses popped. Absolute bliss.

I prefer a woman. It just helps me relax more... besides, I'm used to women having their hands all over me.

**EDIT - Shh, don't tell my wife

I go to men or women, but my husband absolutely will not go to a man. I think it's a guy thing.

I don't care if a massage therapist is a man or woman. Regardless, I want someone who is strong enough to apply firm pressure. I don't like dainty massages. None of the massages I've ever paid for have been remotely sexual.

I prefer female.. I had a massage by a small man and he was not firm enough, it creeped me out and I could not relax.

I prefer going to a woman, I went to a man once and found I couldnt relax . I wondered what he was thinking as he was rubbing my chubbiness.

Yep, as a Licensed Massage Therapist, I have experienced this. Straight men normally DO NOT want a man giving them a massage. I am actually guilty of this too.

One of the reasons I had to give up massage therapy was because of this and also the fact some women were afraid of the way I looked. Scared 'em, I guess. Had to get a real job about 20 years ago and give it up.

Oh well, I still have my table and my wife reaps the benefits on a regular basis.

I never really figured out what I like.

I'm totally creeped out by the idea of being touched all over by a man, even if it's completely professional and therapeutic. OTOH I can't completely relax when the masseuse is a hot woman either. Why do they always work on your back first then have you roll over? It also seems like the hotter these girls are the weaker and less skilled they tend to be.

The best therapeutic massages I've gotten were deep tissue massages from fat, unattractive middle-aged eastern-european or hispanic woman. They were insanely strong and knew exactly what they were doing. At the same time it always seemed more sadistic than therapeutic. Definitely not any fun.

I would prefer female. I just don't think I could relax with another guy rubbing and massaging me.
Lights down low, soft music on, nothing but a towel covering me........

A man with a lack of firmness is always a disappointment.

Why do they have to be menstruating? Does it have an effect on their massaging abilities?

I've never had a massage, but I'd probably prefer a man.

Stronger, larger hands for one thing.

If it was a REALLY ugly woman, I might be okay with it, but I don't think I'd want to be rubbed down by a woman who looks better than I do.

I prefer a woman but I've had a few male massages as well. It's a different feel. Men's hands are usually bigger and thicker so they work the muscles differently. I'll let a woman work my scalp and face, but not a man - that would be creepy.

    Preferance is a woman.

They also make vehicles for that - remember that article you posted the other day about BMW?

Played soccer in college, half the people working in the training room were guys, and so I've been massaged by both. I really didn't have a problem with it, but I think if I were getting a massage just for relaxation purposes I would still prefer a woman.

I'm still SUPER self conscious, and luckily one of my best friends is a massage therapist, so I go to her when I'm home.

Maybe in another 50lbs or so, I'll try and let a man rub me down haha
