confused about protein foods!

about a week ago I changed my macros to 40 protein and I've looked on here a bit for high protein foods. I keep seeing quinoa, almonds, yogurt.. but when I put those things in my diary they only contain a 4-8 grams of protein for a serving? Am I missing something or is that actually a high protein count for a serving?

Quinoa is the highest protein GRAIN and also the only (that I know of) complete protein grain. That doesn't make it necessarily high protein compared to meat, but it's the highest grain.
Almonds have some protein but their real nutritional punch is in vitamin E and healthy fats.
Yogurt really has to be greek yogurt to be a high protein food. Look at nutritional info for chobani or fage brands.

My go to for high protein (besides meat) is greek yogurt! I also will do cottage cheese, or a protein shake.

almonds seem to have really high cals for not alot of protein!

Nellie, cotttage cheese is a no go, I tried it once, not good!!! I'd rather not do a protein shake, they are full of preservatives!

although I haven't been sticking to my "whole foods" mantra lately anyway, at least a protein shake would do me good unlike the darn munchkins...

Tofu is high in protein, low in calories, if that's something you want to try out? also, beans and lentils are, nuts generally are high in protein - try pistachio nuts, you can eat a lot more for your cals of them than other nuts ;D
Eggs (especially the yoke) also a good scource incl B12 scource.

    :)

Munchkins are a HOLE food, not a WHOLE food. I can see where the confusion comes from.

Try tempeh, 22g protein per serving.
