#13: The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth

This is day thirteen of our education of the 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth. Woo Hoo! Some of these you won't be surprised by, some you will. I'll take one out of each food group each day to mix it up a bit.
All information is from the book by jonny Bowden, Ph.D., C.N.S. "The 150 Healthiest Foods on Earth".
Day 13: Almond Oil
Along with sesame oil, almond oil is probably one of the most popular massage oils, primarily because it smells so darn good. Nut besides its nonfood uses, almond oil is a really good, healthful oil to use for cooking
* very high in monounsaturated fats-61 to 65% of the fat in almond oil is from oleic acid, the same omega-9 monounsatruated fat that makes olive and macadamia nut oils so healthy
* associated with lower rates of heart disease
* the less high heat, chemicals, and processing used in extracting the oil, teh better. (That's why I recommended buying cold-pressed, organic oils wheenever possible)
* almond oil does have a little bit of vitamin E and vitamin K.
* Has a high smoke point, so it can be used for all kinds of cooking
* If you use it for the massage I sugguested earlier, almond oil can be a terrific stress reliever. Try keeping it at bedside for relaxing times with you loved on.
