A recent injury forced me out of the gym. Up until then, I was in the gym 7 days a week, lifting heavy each time. My accident and now recovery has changed my views on exercise. I have only been able to lift moderately light weight for the last month, choosing to rep it out with multiple sets. ie: I'll do 10 sets of 10 with a 10 second rest. I now take two full recovery days as well. I will not lift weight longer then an hour, because it becomes counter productive, and I could be using that time to be with my family! This was unheard of before!! It's totally transformed my body, i've shed 9 lbs in the last 4 weeks, being that i'm not lifting heavy killing myself in the gym i've needed to adjust my diet. I dropped my protein, upped my carbs from veg and my body looks the best it's ever been, i've retained my muscle size but i've chiseled my body. I'm ripped, and I like it. It's just sad that it's taken a life changing accident to make me see my ways were so wrong. You really do need to change things up, give the body a break once in awhile, sometimes the little changes in the workouts make the biggest differences.
