"THAT TIME"

OMG..it's that time and I think I can eat anything that doesn't move!!! I'm craving sweets! How do you all handle TOM? I need help! I'm just starting this weight loss journey and haven't really lost anything yet, but even if I've lost a pound I've found it today!! HELP!

I have really struggled with that too and found that I just have to give myself a break (which is hard to do). You'll find your groove. Try to be easy on yourself, you'll get there. One day at a time!

I might as well have my water bottle implanted to my body for my TOM. I drink so much water so I don't eat things I don't really need. It helps with that hunger too. I think I feel so bloated and gross....and my cramps get so bad I don't really eat as much.

I would suggest upping your water intake during TOM

Same issue here, I am due anyday now, and for 3 days, I had the most monstrous cravings, to such a degree I wound up calling Domino's at 3.30am to order in cookies and ice cream, lol. Same thing happened last month. It is really bad. Only thing helping me is filling up on greek yoghurt with pb2, a little jam/jelly and seeds mixed in and munching on fruit. Also check into if you are intolerant to sugar or wheat as apparently, that can cause insane cravings and pmt issues. Drinking water makes no difference to me personally, I still crave and still feel ravenous. I just try as best I can to deal with it by eating plenty of protein. Cottage cheese if I am craving salty things, rice cakes for crunchy and fruit for sweet.

Mine started today. I woke up crying. I took a rest day, took Alieve and ate a little over 2000 calories (putting myself about 450 calories over my goal) today, and now I feel awesome. I just made sure I got enough protein and some nutrients instead of just eating a few bags of cookies. I did have cookies and hot chocolate though. I pretty much cannot maintain a calorie deficit, but eating semi decent food with a treat or two does help as long as I eat enough. I also let myself eat more than 40% carbs like I do on most days. Today I was more like 50 or 55.

For me, the first day is the worst, I still have cravings other days, but they are manageable. I had lots of low days, so today won't even put me over my goal with it all averaged out. Some days you just need more food. From experience, know tomorrow will still mean cravings but they will be much more manageable. I think you need to find what works for you, and there's nothing wrong with eating maintenance for a day or two. I did last month and still managed to lose a pound that week.
