SBF2: Reboot Boogaloo! June 29

Hi pebbs,
Today, if all goes according to plan, I have a session with my trainer. And about a zillion phone calls to make and immigration forms to finish, and food to prepare, and the normal craziness.
I'm up early, as I'm trying to work on my project first thing in the morning every morning, so that it's done every day. (otherwise I get tired and slack off on it, and I really need to finish it and move on to the next thing)
Take care boogoloo!:flowerforyou:

Mornin!
That blog was interesting, V. I'm going to read more about the wheat issue...
I wonder if I'm addicted to sugar since that is what I crave every two hours without fail, sometimes to the point of getting anxious if I can't have it.
I love the gym at this hotel. Last night I ran on the treadmill for the first time in a LONG time and it felt great. I only managed 15 minutes but I worked up a good sweat and kept my HR up for weights.
yesterday was tough though because we were on set until 9:30pm, and the only meal we had catered was at 1:00pm. By 6pm everyone was STARVING and there was nothing to eat except stale tortilla chips, which we devoured. Today I'm going to learn my lesson and stockpile some of the healthier stuff in case we go late again.
Shoots are so tough because they start early and go late, so there is never any time to get to an actual grocery store for supplies.
I'm not complaining, though! The show is fun and I'm happy to be working!0 -
V, remind me what your project is again. I forget.
WL, glad to see you are still able to get some exercise in and check in with us! I hope the food thing goes better today.
I don't know what I am doing today. It's already too hot and humid to go out. I'm kind of grouchy too. I'll get over it. Hey, at least the house is still pretty clean from Saturday so I will just have to pick up and move on to other things.
I think we've decided to have the dreaded garage sale...we just don't know when yet. I need to get motivated and go through boxes to see what we have. I also need to dig in our storage room and find the books I was talking about yesterday and a stuffed puppy that Alex has been asking for since May.It gets hot in there quick so I need to get that done after breakfast. If anyone has had a garage sale and has advice, tell me. Try not to be too discouraging because I really don't want to do it, and any discouraging words will shut me off completely to it. I do have a few ideas that might help in the summer heat, like lemonade, snow-cones etc.
So today:
get some form of exercise
find the books
start on garage sale stuff
log food
drink water
Then I can goof off.
Happy digging boogaloo!

Comment on yesterday's post:
I don't think wheat is bad for everyone. After all Jesus and his disciples ate wheat.I know for me if I haven't had wheat in awhile it does weird things to me. I was on the South Beach diet and when it came time to reintroduce wheat I became very tired and pms-y. I was literally crying all the time. DH was kind of freaked out. But I did feel great during the first two weeks before wheat. I would do the diet again if I wasn't so sick of eggs. I can have wheat everyday and not really notice a change, but I think over all it makes me tired and I definitely turn into a balloon. I think I am also finding that either chocolate or sugar makes me grouchy. I am suspecting sugar. So I need to cut that out too.
Anyway, that's my shpeel on it.

It's my "comprehensives" which for me, mean a huge synthesis paper on about 75-80 sources in my field. Also, my supervisor thought it would be fun to say I could do it one way (which I started) and then change his mind. I was going to do an annotated bibliography/short summaries of all the works, which is why I chose so many sources. . .but now he wants a paper. Which sucks, because then it's useless to me as a resource after I'm finished turning it in. It's taking forever, and I hate it, so I procrastinate big time. My new philosophy, as my coach put it, is "you don't have to like it. you just have to do it."
But, I'm just using my "smile and nod" method to finish this degree.
I miss being a real grown up.
On the upside, I just finished my hour of work on it, so now I'm free to worry about other stuff for the rest of the day.0 -

MM, I JUST had a garage sale the weekend before I left for Detroit and it was the best! It was completely last minute, and I didn't even mean to really do it but I had gotten my place painted and thought that it would be easier to sell my stuff than to move it all back to its original places!
It turned out to be really fun and I made a few hundred, money that I REALLY needed! Mine was like a party -- I usually wear some hideous outfit from my closet (this year it was an old bridesmaid dress and a tiara), have a few friends over, and I always have one 'wild card' item that is something so awful that you never think it will sell...if it sells, then they get a door prize. This year's wild card item was an old stretched-out, off-white sports bra. I couldn't believe someone bought it!
My advice:
* Post an ad on Craigslist. I didn't bother to put up any signs, but I'm lucky that my place is on the way to the Farmer's Market so I had a lot of foot traffic.
* I actually don't believe that you HAVE to start it at the crack of dawn. There's tons of people like me who aren't up walking around at 7am on a Saturday morning! But if you are starting early, then do most of your prep work the night before. If you live in a safe place, you can stash it behind your house with tarps over it so all you need to do is drag it outside in the morning.
* Get small bills and change the night before. Many people will pay with a $20 bill for a $2 item!
* Rather than spending a ton of time putting price tags on everything, I put it on tables...$5 table...$2 table...etc. But put prices on the big ticket items. Or just put up a sign "Purses: $5, Shoes: $3" etc.
* Resign yourself to donating or giving away anything that doesn't sell!!! Doesn't matter if it's a snowboard that you paid a few hundred for...you are prepared to get rid of it so get rid of it.
* Set out a cooler of drinks for yourself, and maybe a sun umbrella to sit under with some lawn chairs. Settle in for the day, even though it tends to draaaag after 2pm.
* Have a bag of "free with purchase" stuff as incentive, or maybe a plate of donut holes or something
* Set out a water bowl for people walking their dogs
* Finally, and most importantly, HAVE FUN!!!! You are decluttering and making a fresh start, and it should feel great! Let go of your stuff and your attachment to it, spend the day outside with your family, meet your neighbors, chat up some new people, and use the cash for something fun!0 -
Thanks WL! You rock! I'm glad you had fun doing it. It gives me hope! I was trying to think of ways to make it more fun. A free drink (or choice of soda, lemonade, browie, or cookie) with $5 or 10 purchase. I think my pastor has tent things we can put up for shade. I think they even have a mist-er. Dressing up as something would be funny. I would have loved to see you in the braidsmaid's dress and tiara. That's great!
I just went through toys and other misc. stuff and have a good pile of stuff started. Someone from DH's work gave him about $300 worth the stuff. We have practically new furniture we need to pick up...probably on Friday. We haven't even told people at church about it yet! The stuff may come in but I also hope we get some helpers.
I also hope I am burning some calories today!I am still feeling kind of sick so I don't much feel like bouncing all over for a work out. We'll see.
I'm chatty today. I'll try not to hog the thread!
Oink oink booglaoo!
