Grr....Family

I wonder if I made a mistake sharing my diet with my family. On the one hand, weight is an issue for me and while my family has been very good about not giving me a hard time about it, it's something that bothers me. This program has really helped me so far. It's made me aware of how many calories I'd previously been eating in a day and how much I'd been underestimating my calories and perhaps overestimating my exercise. In the first couple of weeks, the weight came off fairly easily and I dropped about 10 pounds in the first couple of weeks (as of maybe Sunday). But, not surprisingly, I haven't lost any weight in the last three days. I've been good and eaten right and kept under my calories but sometimes it takes a few days for the weight to drop? My biggest problem is in planning evening meals that are healthy and that I like to eat. I don't feel comfortable going back to preparing meals the way I did previously because I'm not comfortable either the healthiness of the meals or my portion size. Clearly, I wasn't good at it. Most of the meals that I've prepared so far have been either boring or nottasting good. So I was talking to my dad today and he asked if I'd lost any more weight....well, not since Sunday. Then I expressed my frustration at the dinners I'd prepared so far. And he gets mad at me! Whether because I haven't lost any more weight or because everything's not perfect, I'm not sure. His question was, "Well why don't you eat a baked potato or lettuce?" Huh? LIke that's helpful? Any advice on how to deal with family's not-so-helpful advice?

I also have family members that ask the same question. " so have you lost any weight? Hows your exercising going?" I didnt know that my problem was their main question. They might as well say to me hey fat *kitten* did ya get off the couch today? Just do your thing and keep your head up. http://www.skinnyms.com/ has some great recipies. Also womens health magazine. Stay strong and remember you are doing this for you, no one else!

I love your response! Thanks for making me smile. You're right, Im not sure when my weight loss became their concern. The diet is going well and while I of course I'd love to lose 5 pounds a week, that would be unsustainable and probably unhealthy. But I know I'm going in the right direction and doing theright thing. Anyway, will have to check out those recipe websites!
