Ladies who lift.

I have a serious, but embarrassing question.
It's about my *cough*headlights*cough* at the gym.
I'm completely serious. Mortified, but serious.
The last few times I've been to the gym and done lifting type exercises, I've done squats and deadlifts in front of the mirror, and it would seem when I'm lifting, I get 'headlights'... it must be a blood flow thing... I was wearing a proper sports bra, with fairly thick material. Nothing thin or lacy.
Anyway, today I worked out at the work gym with a young guy who I asked to help me as a 'spotter' when I did chest presses.
He was really nice and really helpful and offered to help me next time I go to the gym... but now I'm embarrassed.
I've never noticed the issue when I work out with my PT, but then I don't usually work in front of a mirror when I'm working out with him. MAYBE it's more of an issue because I'm working out with a guy who I actually work with in the office. I'm not sure.
Does anyone else have this issue, or am I out on this ledge all alone?

I'm not starting lifting till monday so can't say if its a common experience, but I think they make nipple cover things for when going braless, so maybe that would help?0

nope the same thing happens to me. i've noticed a few guys get it too but you can only tell if they're wearing tight shirts.0

happens to me as well!0

I was going to suggest you could try the 'breast petals' sold in the lingerie department. They are specifically designed to hide nipplage.0
-
Been there, although I didn't have any cute guys offer to spot me *pout*.
You can buy nipple shields at most dept. stores or if you really um stand out, nursing pads offer extra padding and coverage.0 -
I have to wear like 2 bras and a cami and then my regular shirt, so I wouldn't know. can you just put on another layer like a tank underneath? That should help!0

HA!! Too funny! No embarrassment needed. Seems like it happens to the best of us, and I am pretty sure people aren't really paying attention.0

happens to me too, although because of my breast size, I wear a pretty sturdy sports bra and a crop top, so I don't tend to 'stick out' that much.0

I was wearing a good quality sports bra, a tank top thing and a long sleeve shirt over the lot, so I had plenty of layers going on.
My husband suggested it was because I get 'excited' about lifting. LOL.
Glad to hear it's not just me. I feel a bit better now.0 -

Well the guy I work with was standing over me 'spotting' the bar as I was lifting, I'm pretty sure he was paying attention :blushing:0 -
Lol, yep this really happens!! However as far as embarrassment goes, you're not a reall 'lady lifter' until you've ripped a massive fart while doing a max squat... I think everyone in my lifting group has done one by now... though I have outdone them all by actually doing it in the warm up area at a comp... oh well at least it wasn't up on the platform:)0

LOL LOL LOL.
Well I'm currently only squatting 20kgs because I'm recovering from knee surgery, I KNOW I can do more, but I'm only pushing up the numbers slowly so that I don't do any damage.0 -
