ok since febuary my weightloss has been slothy at best. I've continued to slowly lose inches but the scale is mocking me. You can check my losses on my profile and see something is quite wrong with the pattern. In march I posted one loss period. I havent lost an ounce the last 3 weeks, I've been seeing gains mostky on the scale- only weighing weekly.
Last month seeing I wasnt losing and having a few times been told well you need to eat atleast your bmr I upped my calories to only losing 1lb a week which is 1800 calories.
I try and eat them all but sometimes just can't. I exercise 6-7 times a week, aerobics, bellydance fitness, long walks and light dumbells, i haven't been good on my protein lately but wasn't losing well before that. I'm constantly chnging what I eat and what Im exercising calories up and down but always right at or under goal. Why am I not losing? I trt and watch sodium but it is a struggle for me and am often over fats but thats all healthy fats mostly.
Any advice?

Perhaps talk to your doctor?0

I agree, talk with your doctor. Maybe have a blood test done to make sure you don't have a thyroid issue. Only saying that because people in my family have thyroid problems and no matter how much they ate, or didn't eat, they were gaining weight. I haven't had an issue with my thyroid (dang it!, no excuse there), but you never know there could be a reason for you.0

I would watch the processed food. Morningstar products are my weakness as well. heavily processed food simply take longer for our bodies to break down. Also look out for the sodium. I manually changed mine because I think MFP's is a bit high. I took mine down to 2200. However if you are losing inches, put the scale away for a while and focus on fitness.
BTW I am looking for new friends, if you are interested, feel free to add me.0 -
I feel your pain. I know I have a thyroid issue. I was treated for hyper active thyroid when I was 19 and it was zapped with radioactive iodine (no I do not glow in the dark). So basically my thyroid is non to minimally functioning. Even though I am on hormone replacement, it is not the same as your body making the hormone and working with your other systems. My dad had type I diabetes for 43 years and I can tell you that just because he took good care of himself and measured his blood sugars and took his insulin like he breathed....it was a hard road and no matter what his efforts, he still struggled with the fact his body was not making the insulin itself. I remind myself of this when I struggle during the days where I am trying to shed some weight. I have lost 14 lbs since mid March (which I attribute a fair amount to water weight). But the last 3 weeks I have struggled to lose anything. I get so disappointed when I hit my plateau early. I'm only half way to my immediate goal. So...for you, I would go to the doctor and have yourself checked. Keep a log of what you have been eating/exercising and your weight along that process and then your doctor will be armed with information to help you. But beware.....I went to numerous doctors including endocrinologists who basically told me to exercise more. At the time (late 20's) I was already exercising almost 2 hours a day with 2 small children to care for and a part time job. I was furious. I read book after book and no one would listen to me until I found my current doctor. He finally stopped treating me from the lab results but by how I felt. Just the SLIGHTEST adjustment in my thyroid replacement and I was a new person as far as achy joints, hair loss, etc. But...weight will always be my struggle. Just keep trying and know that if you find the right doctor, no matter what the reasons are, you will find some help and answers to a healthier you.0
