Does anyone have tips for this problem?

I seem to do veyr well with my diet during the day and most evenings, but there is one issue that is hard to control.
---I have a 2 year old son (almost 3) and a hungry fiance to feed. I only work 3 days a week so I also have all day at home with my son 2 of the days during the week. WHICH I LOVE!!! however it's the eating that is hard. I always find myself throwing away a LOT of food lately (since being strict on my diet) and also trying to make so m any different things. My fiance is fine with dieting; he'd love it if I made a very healthy meal every night but he definately wants to eat way more than I should have!!!
I don't want to just make beef-a-roni and a vegetable cup for my son, Gavin, every night b/c I know he would like to have some different things.. but like making spaghetti salad & garlic bread ( a normal family meal night) would just be so tempting for me and I think I would be grouchy all night since I didn't get any! LOL

is there a solution or do I just put up with it until the wedding then I can go back to eating the rest of his meals and cooking normal meals @ night? Which isn't bad; I don't put on weight doing that I just don't feel like I'm "dieting" or being strict like I should before my wedding in August.

OROROROROR do I just buy us all seperate frozen mels for dinner? :-) me a lean cuisine, etc.
anyone??????

I buy seperate and then maybe 2 nights out of the week when cooking for my family, I will incorporate something I can eat together with them like grilled fish and brown rice, etc.
Buying seperate can be a pain sometimes but it's so worth it! And I do not get tempted when I make them dinner. I just eat my seperate meal before making the family dinner and I'm already full so I don't get tempted.

I just feed my husband and kids what I am having most nights. Just try and be creative with healthy choices that everyone will like. Sometimes they get dessert in addition, but really now is the time to teach them healthy eating so they don't have the same trouble in the future.

I am giving up all 4 legged animals, so on the nights that I cook a roast or something for my husband and kids I throw in a piece of fish or salmon but we eat the same sides.

I eat the same thing has my husband (that is a 6'6" string bean) and 2 year old but I add in a side salad and have smaller portion sizes than them. Any leftovers I send with my husband for lunch or we have a leftover night. Both my daughter and husband like healthier meals and I let them eat larger portions or they have dessert.

I understand your struggle. Good Luck.

My whole family eats what I do. My husband is on MFP as well and the kids ( teenagers) eat healthy as well. They are never too young to instil healthy habits.

eat what you are making for them. just control your portions so you don't go over on calories. what's wrong with spaghetti salad and garlic bread? nothing!! just have portions that will not break your calorie bank. or decide if you want more spaghetti and forego the garlic bread. no need for separate meals. and no need to go all frozen (processed and full of sodium).
they will be healthy because you feel them healthily. if a food is something you wouldn't eat, why would you want to give it to your child?

I get the "super strict till wedding" thing, but if you think of this as a "diet" instead of a healthy lifestyle, you'll stop it at some point, and then gain weight. if you and your entire household are living a healthy lifestyle, that is something that can be permanent, and will lead to good health for all of you!!

My children eat different meals than we do - only because we like hot (spicy) foods.
My husband is always happy to eat what I prepare :)

My sons get jealous if what my husband and I eat is very different from whatever they're eating. So half their plate is full of whatever we're eating (steamed veggies and some kind of protein) and the other half is full of some kind of complex carb (lasagna, spaghetti, potatoes, mac&cheese, etc.). They need extra calories because they're underweight but they still need to eat healthy.

Ideally, hubby gets whatever you're having, just more of it.

It is hard to be creative but my family eats what I do and they seem to enjoy it. I don't have enough self control to watch them eat something that I can't.

I cook 1 meal that EVERYONE eats, no cooking seperate meals or eating frozen dinners ( too much sodium in them)
I jujst make sure i watch my portions and only eat 1 serving of whatever it is we are having, ast night for instance we had Chicken breasts, mashed potatoes and peas. i just weighed everything i ate and recorded it. Tonight same thing i thnk we are having bonless pork loin shops, salad and who knows what else, haven't really decided yet, but i will just make sure i eat a proper portion.

EVerything is good to eat as long as it is in moderation(including spaghetti). I will probably have a drink/cooler or a glass of wine as well.

I have to agree with this. Why would you make 2 different things for dinner. Just eat less. This was super hard for me, because I come from an Italian family and well, food is... it just is!!! Oh, and I thought I was addicted to food. Turns out, not so much...

As to the countdown to the wedding... Maybe it's because I am a guy and just don't get it, but the person you are marrying is getting married to you, as you are now. Why do you (by you I mean women in general) (By that, I mean a lot of you all, not anyone on here though :flowerforyou: ) feel like it's all of the world to lose weight for a day? If it's that important to you, why stop on the wedding day? It's like setting an ending date for being healthy...

Think about if someone were to say, "I am going to be healthy until 6 weeks from now, after that I will go back to killing myself."

Anyway, all brides are beautiful on their day, focus on making your lifestyle healthy so you stay that bride for as long as you can... Have fun :drinker:
