New Rules of Lifting For Women, Results?

I am working on adjusting my workout style. This forum has given great advice and insight. I think I am going to order this book. I heard a little bit about it.
I was hoping to get honest thoughts on the book? Have you used it? Did you follow it to the letter? What about results, how long? What kind of results did you get? I realize it will take time but I would like to set a realistic goal for myself. I would like to use the book to get definition while reducing body fat. At least, that's my hope.
Thank you for your input,
Monica

I have only been at it since Monday. I'm following the nutrition part to some extent. Hope you do it and feel free to add me if you wanna keep track together!0

I have 6 days left in Stage 1. I love it. I plan to make some modifications to the program after this (tired of having to go all over my gym to do things in the order they suggest). The most dramatic change has been the improvements in my strength and how I function. It's been fun to track strength gains.
I do wish the book had a little more in the way of detailed form explanations. I just started reading Starting Strength and it goes into much better detail on how to properly do the lifts. I also kind of blew off the nutrition bit, but I've got that pretty much dialed in.
If you're a novice, I can't recommend it enough. I was/am and it has totally changed the way I look at the gym and my personal fitness.0 -
I've done it twice. I wasn't trying to lose weight but build strength. I did build my strength up quite a bit, and lost a couple % body fat in the process.
For example, went from being able to deadlift 25lbs --> 135lbs
squats went from 25lbs --> 125lbs
shoulder press 8lb dummbells --> 20lb dumbbells
I highly recommend it and think it is a great program and easy to follow and understand. Plus you're not in the gym for hours on end, which I can't stand!!!0
