Polar FT4 acting weird

Has anyone else had this issue with their FT4- I got in October, so its about 6 months old. I use it about 1-1.5 hours a day, 6 days per week. It's having a hard time keeping my heart rate, it will initially read it, then go to 00, or some extremely high number in the upper 100's or 200's. Or it will stay at 00, or say "check heart rate transmitter" while working out. Yes, I wet the strap, and wash it every 4-5 uses. It was working fine up until about 2 weeks ago. From what i've read, I have tried everything but the battery replacement. Anyone else have similar situation, and if so did the battery replacement fix it? Thanks :)

    bump! so far washing or tightening the strap has "fixed" mine when it does that. So my guess would be battery but I haven't needed one yet
