Having a very bad day (attitude wise)

I have been trying so hard to look at this positively and not worry about the scale. I have been working my butt off for the past 10 days, going to the gym, staying under 1300 calories (I upped it from 1200 bc I was very hungry at 1200)...

I have lost 4 pounds (according to the scale some days), and 2 inches around my waist and an inch and a half around my hips..

Last week when I calculated my body fat percentage it was 41%, this week its 52%??? WTH! How did it go up when I am losing inches? I just want to cry. HOW THE HELL DID I LET MYSELF GET THIS FAT???

My fiance' has cut out eating out on his lunch breaks, but WITHOUT working out he has lost 10 pounds in the past 10 days. I have been busting my butt and the scale isn't cooperating.

I am getting married in 5 months, and there is no way in hell I am walking down the aisle looking the way I do now, or anywhere close. I want to postpone the wedding bc I want to look back at my pictures and not hate them.... I would if I all ready didn't spend $800 so far on the wedding.. :(

    Did you lose weight?? Did you lose inches too??? Are you eating heathlier?? Are you working out more??

    Well I'm sure you can answer yes to all of that. Look at what all you have done!! Umm 4 pounds and 3.5 inches!!! IN 10 DAYS GIRL!!!

    That is AMAZING!!! If you keep that up, or even just half, until the wedding, October right?, you will be looking good!

    I know it's hard when the numbers aren't doing what you want them to do, or what seems logical even lol. You have to look at all the things that are going where you want them to. Work on the things you can actually control. your diet and exercising. that's it. If you are focusing on that then the numbers will eventually get to where you want them.

    Keep your head up!

    Giving into a bad attitude day will only make things worse in the long run. I gave in and I am worse off now and have to start all over again. conquer one day at a time and if you cannot do that then one hour at a time. Focus on being the best you can be at this moment. Let the past go. you will be a beautiful bride.

    Its ok. Youre overthinking all of it.

    Just keep doing the right thing. It only happens fast at the very beginning and then it's all about proving you're committed once it starts slowing down.

    Cmon, show us you are gonna keep going no matter if your progress slows.

    Alyssa, Im no expert and ive tried giving you advice in the past. My day to day experience changes also. My goal each day is 1,550 calories. I was doing really well eating just over 1,200 for a little while. I hit plateau and read so many threads on burning muscle instead of fat, that it freaks me out. Im a dude. I don't need to be burning muscle by any means. Its the fat im trying to lose. I read a thread yesterday when someone said that you are supposed to eat as close to your goal as possible to keep your metabolism in check. I tried that yesterday. My metabolism already seems like it got a boost. So this is what im gonna try. I will let you know how it works. I don't know what your daily goal is, but you could be eating too little calories for the diet part of your journey to work correctly.

    Awww, don't be so hard on yourself. It's so easy to put on the weight, but it's hard to work it off. It's WORK. You are doing really really well. You're eating right, you're exercising and you have a goal in mind. 5 months may not seem like a lot, but if you keep being consistent, you can lose the weight within that time frame. Don't focus so much on pounds lost, focus on the strength you have earned and the way your clothes are fitting.

    Women fluctuate throughout the month, our weight can be anywhere from 1 to 5 lbs different depending on where we are in our cycles. Try to weight yourself 1 time a week, or just record your weight once a week. I stood on the scale today and it said I weighed a pound more than I did yesterday, but I KNOW that's not possible.
    ~~~I have not eaten an excess of 3500 calories. It's not POSSIBLE for me to have gained a pound in a day. It must be water or waste or something the scale cannot measure.
    Just relax, and focus on your training and diet. The only things you can control. YOU CAN DO THIS.
    Just a little advice from someone who has experience in this area...your attitude AT and towards your wedding will matter far more than your weight. I think it's fantastic that you want to get in shape, but do it for more than a day of pics. I was super thin at my wedding and pics were/are awful because I was being such a rag (husband and all his wedding party went to jail the night before and barely got out, but that's another post...)
    Anyways, I have HUGE regrets about my behavior that day and boy do those pics ever remind me! Calm down girl, you are getting married. Embrace this beautful time in your life and get as healthy as you can up until then. Good luck!
  • It's frustrating and I'd be lying to you if I said I never felt the same way myself. But you will see change. You already lost 4lbs! That's great in just 10 days. I know it's hard, but keep at it. The hardest things to do are the most rewarding things in the end.
