If someone could check out my diary and offer any advice, I would appreciate it! I'm 38 and 133 pounds. 5'0. I've been exercising for 3 months now 6 days per week (hip hop dance class/spin class/jogging/walking/cardio-kickboxing and eliptical machine.

I've lost 5 pounds but have definately plateaued. I am very muscular by nature and bigger boned. I'm going for 125lbs. (pre-pregnancy weight - my youngest is 5 haha)..

I've tried doing the 1200 cal diet and then tried eating back my exercise calories. I've lost a few inches and feel toned and great but the scale just will not budge. Can someone help???

The only thing that comes to mind is you may not be eating enough. Especially when you get close to your goal and since you don't have much to loose it could be the reason your body is holding on the the extra weight. It could also have to do with what you are eating. I would be happy to help if you like. You can friend me and if you feel comfortable sharing what you eat on a regular basis I may be able to point you in the right direction.

I know it's frustrating and I have been there, but you I know you will be able to reach your goal.

If you are looking to take off those last few pounds, you could try a strict low carb diet. It will force your body to burn the fat. Something like less than 25 carbs per day. Try it for two weeks and see if it doesn't get the scale to budge.

    Eat more...
Clean up your diet.... NO PROCESSED FOOD.
    Drink more water.

Those last 10 pounds are not likely gonna come off with exercise.

Yes, probably not eating enough. This happens to me, too. You are putting your body into "starvation" mode, which slows down your metabolism. Make sure you are getting enough protein to help build muscle. Add some strength training to build muscle (which will increase your metabolism) and make sure you aren't eating less than 1200-1300 calories every day.

Also, I think the "pre-pregnancy" weight and "high school weight" goals are generally bad ideas. First, it is an arbitrary number and as we age, our bodies change and so does our ideal weight. Second, as you gain muscle you will weigh more PER VOLUME; so as you gain muscle you can be slimmer but weigh more!

That said, I feel your pain! :) However, I see that I am slimmer and my clothes fit better even though the scale is stuck. I think I am going to stop with the arbitrary weight goal and go with how my jeans fit :)

More veggies and go low carb, even just for a while. Good luck
