Hey. I have been losing weight since Jan and working out hard since then too. I have lost about 52 lbs ( with water weight i went up and up high recently... cutting wayyy back on sodium.) anyways I have a question. I currently eat an average of 194g carbs per day. I know my body and I know that carbs are my demon!!!!! I have cut out bread and the such but now I am wondering if i cut more how much should i cut. Should i be staying below 100??

I am not doing atkins or anything I am doing low calorie and keeping everything else low... my fat intake is very low and my protien is always high ( i make sure of lots of protien) but I have noticed my carbs are UP there... so what is the healthy amount to eat and still lose weight??

Any suggestions would be great thank you so much

  • It would help if your diary was open for viewing, but it should be said that keeping your fat low is a bad idea. You say yours is very low, so I would definitely suggest increasing it.

I am trying to increase my carbs since I am coming off the Adkins diet. Since last May I have lost 65lbs. BUT my cholesteral sky rocketed. So I cut out the bacon, fried eggs and cheese and added in fruits and boiled egg whites. I'm eating around 100 carbs a day but I'm not eating enough calories (700-1000). My food dairy is open and so far no one has commented on how few caloried I eat, but I do eat and I'm never hungry. I too average 50 fat grams a day. I think you will see an incease in weight loss if you cut your carbs that much. I've only been doing MFP and new diet for 15 days so I'm looking for suggestions too.

Best of luck to you and feel free to add me! :)
  • You should be eating .5g of fat per pound of lean body mass and 1g of protein per pound of lean body mass. Whatever is left over (calorie wise) can be used for whatever you want to eat. More carbs, more fat, more protein, whatever. The fat and protein are just minimums.
