Not Seeing It.

Even though I have lost 14 lbs and I can feel a difference, I'm just not seeing it. I have been walking 8/10 mile 4 days a week, Zumba once a week, taking the stairs at least once a day and parking at the back of the parking lot. I realize I probably need to step it up some but I thought I'd at least see something.
The pictures in the pink top were taken in Feb after my first Zumba class. The ones in the black top were taken last night after Zumba.

I've lost 20 pounds and a pants size, but I still don't think my body shape looks any different. I think it can just take more time to get a visual result when you have more to lose. Don't give up!0
-
That's kinda why I put the pictures up. Hoping maybe somebody else can see what I'm not.0

I swear the fat hides between my ribs and that's what goes away first. I won't notice till I'm down about 25 total. (been here before)0
-
Well done on the 14lb hun, and you can see the difference around your bottom and belly.
It took me a while to see the change that everyone else could see but you are doing well and there is a change in your body shape0 -
I've lost over a stone and can't see it either. Think the thing is to concentrate on the changes you do notice, the others are bound to follow...0
-
I can see huge changes here. You're less likely to see it because it's what you carry all the time. You are trimmer and tighter in the bum. Don't worry. You will see it soon!0
-
Your belly looks a bit smaller to me.
I know that when I lose weight it comes off from the top to the bottom. I see it first in my face, then chest, then belly and last in the bottom (which is where I carry all of my weight).0 -
I see it...especially in the middle set of pictures. You can definitely tell the waist band of your pants fit better in those. They don't "cut in" as far.
Keep going. You're getting the results and every step is worth it. Even if you think the change is insignificant, your body does not
Great job!!0 -
I think you can see it best in the side view. Track where your belly was in relation to your boobs back in February, and look at where it is now. I definitely see a smaller belly. You're doing a great job! Don't be discouraged! It's starting to show!0
-
Yes, it's noticeable. Especially the side-views. You can see that your front-to-back is thinner in the belly and bottom. Keep going. You're doing something right... :glasses:0

I do see a difference. After looking at your pics, I noticed that the recent pics you took are more close up than the first pics, so looking at them side by side, at first glance, it is hard to tell. You are getting results, it takes time, and I know how hard it is to wait when you feel like you are busting butt to get there!0

walking 8 to 10 miles 4 days a week? That's very impressive, why do you need to step it up? Must take hours, I'd try running some of that.0 -
Have you changed your eating habits? Are you doing weight training? I think 14 pounds is a lot of weight to lose. Sometimes when we first start out we lose water weight and if we are eating healthier with more fiber in our diets we "colon cleanse" as well. Water lost and possibly a slight colon cleanse could account for your initial weight loss. Don't give up. I agree your buttocks looks a bit tighter as one member posted.
Start throwing in some weight training and I GUARANTEE you will start to see some changes in your body. As soon as 2-3 weeks! I am 42 years old and wanted to firm up the arms and back fat area. I started doing lat pulldowns and rowing machine as well as the chest press and one other (can't think of the name) and I can tell you that really changed the shape of my body. I also had plateaued with my weight loss and that has gotten me back on track. Many people are afraid to lift weights because they think it will make them "bulky" or that it will make them gain weight but trust me, you will NOT gain weight. It would take a LOT of weight training to gain even a pound of muscle.
Adding muscle to your body will help you reshape your body AND burn more calories. Keep up the good work and don't be discouraged! I look forward to your next "after" picture.0 -
14lb is great! Are you measuring yourself as well as weighing yourself? Sometimes you can't see the results, but the tape measure can! Measure your hips, waist and neck every week or 2 and record the results on mfp, I bet you'll see the difference there! Don't give up! You're doing great! x0

Keep it up and don't be afraid to incorporate some heavy strength training. If your'e gonna go, go all the way! :drinker:0

Tummy and hips, definitely a change. You are doing great!0

I lost twenty pounds last fall and still wear the same size clothes. I'm trying for 30 lbs now. It will come. Just keep going, you are doing fantastic !0
-
Measure! I'm sure you will see some inches lost. Keep up the good work!0

It looks like, as your waist is slimming, your torso appears longer. I had the same thing happen as I lost.
And I didn't notice much change in the first 12-15 pounds lost, then it was like a landslide.0 -
The scale proves it, regardless of the mirror. I couldn't really see a difference in myself until I reached about 30 lbs lost. I started at 237, and I thought I looked the same until ~200 lbs. Then, the results became much more visible, to me and others.
Hang in there! You are doing a great job!0 -
I do think the most visible change in your pics is comparing your girls. In the black top, they look larger/lower, in the pink top, smaller and higher. That's good stuff right there0

No, lol 8/10ths. Just short of a mile. I wish I had time to walk that far. LOL I barely manage that.0 -
14 lbs is not that noticeable unless youre already smaller. Ive lost almost 40 and now is that im noticing small changes. hang in there and wait till u lose 40+0
-
Make sure you're measuring!!!!0
-
I can see it, just a suggestion, take measurements of your waist, hips, thighs, chest and arms...each month measure again. We all lose differently. You are doing a great job. Keep it up0

I think that may be because I am wearing my regular bra under the black top whereas I'm not with the pink one.
I have been measuring. I forgot to mention that. I have lost almost 4 inches on my waist and 3 on my hips. I guess I was just hoping for dramatic changes like I see in some people's pictures.0 -
I always take ages to see it when i loose any weight. 14 pounds is amazing keep it up i always find measuring helps as even if u cant see it the tape never lies0

Measure!0

Ahh, hang in there. I have felt and look completely bloated recently because I haven't been getting that much exercise. Then I stepped on the scale to find myself down another 8 lbs from my last weigh in.
When I first started, I wasn't losing any weight but my body was showing changes right away. Everyone is different and the changes will show at different times in different places. The key is to stick with it. Good luck.0 -
14# is a great loss. Time to step up your activity, more cardio and adding in strength training.
What's your diet like?
You'll see results faster with more activity and eating the right kinds of food.0
