Anyone lost 50 or more pounds just WALKING...

...and eating right?
I really like walking, and I find 30 ds and other workouts to still be so difficult that I dread them. I started last October at 268 pounds, and could barely walk around the block (1.1 miles with big hills) in less than 24 minutes. Now I walk at least 2 miles, usually 3-4 per day at 3.5 mph. Sunday I walked to my parents house (8 miles) and was not even a tiny bit sore the next day. Now I am down 53 pounds and have 40 more to go. I just keep thinking if I can lose the chubbiness in my way, then the other types of workouts will not be so hard to do.
I saw a wonderful post about someone who lost over 100 pounds, got to her goal weight and THEN started toning with great results. I just need to hear from more of you....who else did this? And is walking still a decent cardio exercise when you are quite used to it? I still get winded outside..and sweaty...but on the treadmill I can go an hour at 3.5 and get just slightly tired. I can't keep up with 4.0 for more than 10 minutes.
So any success with just walking your weight off? Or any suggestions?
Thanks!

I am down 40 lbs by just walking, I typically walk about 5-10 miles a day.
One thing I always enjoyed was biking, bit I would destroy bikes with my weight, now that I am around 250, I am riding more as well as walking.
The way I look at it is the more I change my habits now the easier it will be to maintain them in the long run.0 -
