One of the nifty things about (self-raised) pigs is that they are one of nature's walking garbage disposals, turning table and garden scraps into nom nom nom.
One of the nifty things about cows is that you don't have to kill them to get delicious milk and cheese.
Overall I'd choose cow ... because I love dairy. But really my answer is BOTH.0 -

I like bacon, I like gammon and eggs, and I like slow-cooked beef.
I think my favourite would be the beef, but there are TWO amazing votes for the pig.

I'm an ethical carnivore. 35 years of *not* eating factory farmed meat.
So, pig, cow, either is fine as long as you know your farmer. And I got made fun of for stating this at lunch today but it's true--grass fed beef has HALF the fat of factory farmed.
