HRM and swimming

i have a beurer 25, and on the website it says its water proof
but im not sure if it'll be okay with swimming
and will a chest strap look weird under my swimming costume
opinions?

I don't give a flip what looks funny, probably because I'm so old now I realize what may look funny working out makes me the one laughing when I hit the beach in my swimsuit
