I'm starving

Ok, guys you might want to ignore this post.

I just started my period and I'm starving. Not craving something bad, not feeling like I'd rather eat a hamburger than a salad, I can actually feel my stomach burning and hear it growling. I exercised today so that I could have some extra calories and I ate them and I'm still starving. (I haven't logged them yet if you're looking at my food log)

Also, if I drink any more water I will float away so that's not helping much either.

What to do?

I've read numerous articles stating that some women can burn up to an additional 300 calories during menstruation. If you're that hungry, eat! Just be smart about your choices.

Eat a small amount of protein...maybe a 1/4 cup of cottage cheese. Even better with a tablespoon of peanut butter and some protein powder mixed in. Great before bed snack. How many more hours until bedtime?

    It's bedtime now but I couldn't sleep because I'm hungry. :( lol

I hate cottage cheese, an apple and a tablespoon of peanut butter might do the trick?

Happens to me every month! So glad to hear I'm not alone. I was going to suggest something with bulk (carrots, apple, etc.) along with some protein (peanut butter).

I always save about 100 cals for a protein shake at night during that week. I know some people are opposed to them but they sure do the trick for me. The protein plus the chocolate milk flavor is just what I need.
