I'd like to start of with saying I am a night person , so I sleep from 3 or 4am - 11am . I always end up missing breakfast , therefore I just log my calories in for lunch when I do eat my first meal . I exercise between each meal so I can eat a little more . Tonight I did a Day3 of 30DS and I was hungry after . I know it's 930pm when I ate this ! I made me a bean burrito ... Which was around 171 calories ...... Is it still okay for me to eat this even if I stay up a little later than everyone else ? Or should I have not eaten back my exercise calories ????

85% of my calories are eaten after 11pm, dinnertime, then snacks, then bed at 4am.

    Meal timing is totally irrelevant.

I agree, meal time is irrelevant. You ate that burrito 6 hours before your normal bedtime. For someone like me that goes to bed at a fairly reasonable 11:00, that would be like eating at 5:00. That's completely within reason. The way you're eating is normal

It doesn't matter at all when you eat. You can eat all of your daily calories 5 minutes before bed if you want, it won't have any impact on your weight loss.

Well, think of it this way: I eat my meals/snacks between the hours of 8am and 9pm (sometimes later). So 13 hours of active eating. If you aren't getting up until 11am you could SHOULD be eating late! If I stopped eating 6 hours before bed I would be STARVING when I woke up. EAT!!!

A calorie is a calorie, no matter what time you eat it. If you're hungry, eat! And it's perfectly fine to eat back your exercise calories.

Timing doesn't matter. The problem typically associated with late night eating is that most people are tired and tend to make less healthy choices and start grabbing chips, cookies, easy things. The most important thing is WHAT you're eating, not when you're eating. Enjoy your late night burrito if you still have calories for it. Also, it's OK to "eat back" your calories for the day. If you are keeping to your goal you will lose weight. If you start to eat too few calories, your metabolism will slow down and your body will actually store more fat than it will burn. Hope that helps!!

OK, I need the recipe for a 171 calories bean burrito! My tortilla alone is 130 calories!

La Banderita - Low Carb - Whole Wheat Soft Taco - Tortilla, 1 tortilla ( 81 calories )
Sargento - Ultra Thin Slices - Mild Cheddar Cheese, 1 slice ( 45 calories )
    Great Value - Pinto Beans, Canned, 1/4 cup ( 45 calories )

It was very small to say the least , but very full-filling for my late night snack .
