Clean that machine! - Mini Rant
When did common sense become not so common?
I have a HUGE pet peeve: people at the gym that use a machine and then just go on their merry way. I counted: there are 8 "cleaning" stations at my gym that have paper towels and disinfecting spray you can use to wipe the machine down when you are done using it. You can't miss them, they are everywhere! Although some people use them, many don't and it drives me nuts!
I don't want to lie in other people's sweat or enter the data on a cardio machine that has a drenched sweaty panel. Since I assume no one else at the gym wants to wipe away my sweat (or workout in it), I clean the equipment I use when I'm done, before moving onto the next. Is this not common sense? Is this not common knowledge like going to the back of a line when there is a queue at the bank machine or grocery store? We're talking about grown adults here...
Do we seriously have to post signs at every machine that says "clean your equipment after use"? This would be as disturbing to me as seeing signs in restaurant washrooms that say "employees must wash their hands"...
OK...end of my rant...I feel a bit better now
