Hello!

Hey Everyone!!!

So a few years ago I started Nutrisystem! It went great and I lost over 100 pounds. Then I stopped Nutrisystem. And now I have gained back almost half of what I lost over this last year or so. I do not blame the program I was on because the program did what it was supposed to do. If I had the money I would go back to that program. But now I am planning on getting married in 2 years and I am trying to save as much $$$ as I can.

Gaining back the weight was all just my bad habits sneaking up on me. It was just a pound here or there and I didn't think it was a big deal. Then 50 pounds later it hit me and I decided I really have to stop this before it gets any worse! I am hoping that by kinda doing this more on my own, as opposed to a specific program, that it will be something I can maintain more long term without old habits getting the best of me.

I am going to try to stick to a low calorie diet between 1200 and 1400 calories. Hopefully sticking more to the lower end of that range! I am not going to purposefully cut out any particular foods because for me it is just not realistic. I love to cook. It is one of my all time favorite things to do. And I am good at it! (Too good for my own good! hahaha) And so while I will aim for healthier eating, I will not deprive myself of anything, just limit my portions.

Exercise is another huge issue for me. I have not really found anything that I like to do. I love to swim but since I do not have a pool, that is not readily available. I am a high school math teacher. I teach 4 different courses, 6 class periods a day. I have 90 some students where I have to plan their lessons and grade all their papers. Then I am also taking two graduate courses every semester towards getting my Masters in Mathematics. It is safe to say that I have very little, if any free time during the week. And by the time the weekend rolls around I am so exhausted!

So, if you have made it this far in reading my post, I thank you! I can be a little long winded sometimes! I would love to make some friends on here and have people to talk to about our goals, struggles, etc...

Anyone care to talk just let me know!

    Good morning!

I read it !! :) We have semi silmiliar stories. At one point I was at my heaviest and was not proud at all. I decided to do a "diet" that wasn't really prime choice. I lost 110l lbs in little over a year. I just cut alot of calories and didn't do it right. It stayed off for a while. Then little by little it crept back up on me. Then I would loose the extra and it would come back. Fast forwarding 9 years later. I am 15 lbs away from where I was back then. So I have decided to take charge and do it the right healthy way and consider it a change of life. This has to be a permanent fix, not a temp. So that is where I am at! I have been on here for about 2 weeks now and I absolutely love it. The people are GREAT and I have really stayed on my tracking foods, excercise etc. I am with you, I HATE WORKING OUT. BLAH.. but I make sure I tell myself it only for xxx time and that is it! I just know tackle the eliptical or take a long walk and be done. I know I need to push myself and I am getting there. Ha.. Now it was my turn to be long winded. :)

Welcome and feel free to add me.

LOVE TURTLES!! It's not my last name. lol Honestly I signed up for games for my step daughter on the Ipad. I had to think of a name and whala Turtlez came to mind. The Z was a typo but went with it. lol I use to have turtles when I was younger all the way up into my 30s. Some passed along the way, but I had 1 for 28 years and another for about 25. They had a huge tank. They needed to be out and roam etc. As I got older and my life has become hectic I realized it wasn't fair for them to live like that. I found an awesome pedatrician that built her huge yard/acre into a turtle sanctuary. They have a huge pond all the roaming and they loved it. She won't adopt them out and that is there permanent forever home. They are the coolest though. I even have a tattoo of a turtle on my right shoulder. :)

Very cool. I started with my first turtle a year or so ago. He is a yellow bellied slider named Sammy. I did all the research and have the huge tank and all the lights and everthing for him. He is only about 2.5 inches right now. But then I started seeing posts about people wanting to get rid of their turtles on craigslist and things. It was always the people who didn't realize how big turtles get and how much wokr they really need. And so now I have started taking them in when I can. I have them in their own tanks with as much room as I can fit for them! Eventually I am going to work on finding them a turtle sanctuary as well but for now they are at least better off than where they were.

I have had two turtles now that I have taken in where I literally had to teach then how to swim. They had been in shallow water all their life and I had to work them up to deeper water because they would just panic if I put them in a full tank right away. But now they are swimming like little fishies! :-)
